Mom had her knee replacement surgery yesterday and everything seemed to go pretty well. This one maybe a little more difficult as she knows exactly the time and effort the healing will take. She is thinking she will be out Friday or Thursday night. She seems to sound pretty good on the phone. We missed going to see MJ and Jobie baptism due to the weather.
Yesterday was like summer it was 71, and this morning at 5 (yes I was on the road at 5) it was 64 degrees, now it is plunging, we are having strong storms and then possible snow tonight, isnt that just nutty. The tree that we burned has finally quite smouldering and has left a big hole we will need to use some fill dirt and take care of it soon. I will prob start some indoor plants soon. I have been working alot! Trying to get ahead since the propane gas situation (leftover from losing all that gas last summer when the propane tank got hit) took out our emergency fund.
Missy and I had an interesting conversation yesterday, her story doesnt look like it will be published in the Mochila Review and she took it really hard. She has a hard time distinquishing between her self worth and her writing. I tried to make her realize that she has to get her self worth from Christ and not on what she does. It is a hard time... a hard lesson for that age.
Dave has just kept plodding along has a difficult time right now with his energy level and his legs. However he remains faithful to do for his family. Meg is doing well however her hours at McDonalds got cut, due to labor percentages being too high. She is hoping they go back up and she is trying to save for a car.
I am still working on a quilt however it is at a standstill, right now clean house, work, and sleep that is my agenda. Well all for now.

train a child in the way he is bent
Was listening to Dave Ramsey and he used the verse train upp a child in the way he should go, and talked about the translation that says in the way he is bent ... how he or she is hard wired... I thought it was a good thought . We need to take in consideration our child and the way they are hard wired... it is not a one size fits all.
Been working alot and enjoying it actually, the housework well it is not doing as well getting done. However enjoying the maternity leave and getting back into the "workplace". The girls are back in the swing of things and Dave is doing only slight better. MS has been pushing him around some, but he works through it and gets his job done, not much else but that. He however and Steve fixed all the plumbing problems around the house so maybe we can save some money on the water bill.
Well better get back to work. More later

its been a long week
Well it has been a long week for me and the girls. Everyone is officially back to our routines, although mine is a new one. The lady had a baby girl this Monday so I started the maternity leave. I am enjoying working more and it is starting to feel a little like it will when Meg graduates. Meg and I both have the day off so I am hoping we can have some fun together today. I am letting her sleep in. Missy got way out of her normal sleeping pattern so this week is kicking her butt, and her bank account has taken a hit. She had a book voucher for 244 dollars and when she called they tod her she only had 20 dollars. She didnt check her email which she is horrible about so she spent almost 200 of her own money on books. I have told her time and time again to check her email, now I think she will be more dilligent. Live and learn! The house looks rough and I work early tommorow morning I may or may not get around to it, however I must get groceries!!! People will get crabby if I dont! well better go for now!

starting maternity leave
Well just got the call that the gal is in labor, so I start my maternity leave coverage today. This week is going to be a little crazy! However had a great weekend. We stuck around the house and just got everything cleaned and taken care of and did most of my tax stuff. Went to Tina's house and poured over seed catalogs and started cutting out my quilt stuff. Got some good downtime with Dave and the girls went with their guys and meet a long time friend of theirs from KC. The girls said he was such a great guy and a fellow nerd as they discussed the finer points of different sci fi series and Meg and him got into a long chess discussion! Then on the way home they sang stupid songs the whole way home. It was good to see them have so much fun as the reality of the day to day grind has come. Missy started back to work this morning and Meg started back to her routine this last week.
Dave went to the doctor on Friday, they upped his Provigil some and they are working on getting all his old records together and getting him a referal. Meg is going to have to get into the doctor due to havin her cycle every two weeks for the last six times. I got my mammagram done on Friday and should here back on it this week. They went ahead and did a very extensive one, and an ultrasound so it should be very clear what it is after all those pictures.
Been watching Downton Abbey on pbs.org Love it!!!! Well better go!

starting a new year
Life it is a changing... as we start a new year. I am in hopes that this transtion out of homeschooling routine back to the workforce more will be a good one. I am exicitied about it, also exicited about starting to have a life that is not always centered around my children. I love them but need to have more and more space as they spread their wings.
Missy is doing much much better since she got back on Topamax and things seems to be doing well for her now it was a bump in the road but it is part of who and what she has to deal with. She starts back to work and school next Monday.
Meg is working a whole lot and is enjoying the last half of her school year. She is saving up for a new car and when she is not working and gets her school work done she is hanging with her buds. She went to a wrestling tournament last night.
I started training this week for the maternity leave and will enjoy the oppurtunity to earn a little more, praying for my terp level to come in at a 4 in Feb. Just a praying on that one.
Dave has had a few really bad weeks as far as MS, will talk to our family doctor and get a referal to a doctor at KU in Kansas City, it might take some time but this year we are going for a reevaluation again.

so thankful for my husband
I have just had an overwhelming desire to shout this from the top of the roofs this week. I quess with a new year and looking over things, considering the future and so forth and so on, I keep coming back to this. I also feel this more acutely maybe because of this last stage of parenting I am going through. I am launching my girls out into the world, they are making major life decisions in the next five to ten years. In all likehood they will find a career or not, find a husband or not, have kids or not and that will all prob. happen in that time frame. I just see both of them grappling with such life altering decisions, such big decisions and think wow did I really know what I was doing back then.
My husband has had a heck of a last three weeks with his job, nasty weather, slick roads, a horrible cold, overtime hours, extra duties, you name it, it has happened in the last three weeks. However he is faithful to provide for us. I look around and see those men (no boys) that are not there at all, they have abandoned these woman, they have deserted their duties, they have focused only on themselves. I have friends whose spouse just got tired and deserted, did their own thing for their own selfish reasons. I then see the men that are there, and they do provide for their families, but yet they never engage with their families, they work and then come home and check out and are only physically there.
I am so thankful for my husband, he is so very faithful to us in so many ways. He is our spirtual leader, leading us towards God, praying for us, providing Biblical counsel. He provides for us emotionally, we have family pow-wows, to deal with family issues, he makes sure that he has one on one time with each of us girls and is deeply involved with the small details of our life. He provides for us physically, he is a hard worker, and also helps around the house, cleaning fixing, cooking etc.
He is senstive towards each of "his girls", knowing when we need a hug, when to let us cry, so forth and so on. He is just one awesome wonderful out of this world husband and father!

road trip
Well I and Tina Missy and Spencer went on a road trip to Iowa. Tina was doing genolgy studies and I was the guide to the area. Spencer was going to meet family. I so appreciated that Mom and Dad graciously opened their homes after the short notice cancellation on where we were going to stay. Tina and I had a blast with the funniest part was when we stopped for directions to a certain cemetry and ran into a physic who was "channeling" spirits via her CB radio, what a hoot!
Missy was not in a good place, in fact she had a really bad bipolar eposide this trip. Recently her doctor switched her off on of her meds (which we were leary about). She had started to show some signs of not doing well this last week or so but it was very evident after this trip it was time for her to get back on that med. She was so not good, however that doesnt excuse bad behavior. We had an awkard ride home part of the way due to her and Spencer fighting, but they seem to have resolved it somewhat and they are suppose to get together today to talk more in depth about alot of things. We had a family pow wow and she is getting back on the meds today and calling the doctor on Monday. It was so not good and a tad emberassing as a mother, sometimes it is hard to seperate yourself from that and let them just take the lumps of life on their own. However it is what she must do. I hope she can work this out and that things go well with her talk with Spencer as I really like this young man and he is good for her. However only the Lord knows what the future holds.
I start back into alot of work so the get away was a nice diversion. Dave is having a really bad MS week and is really really struggling to get his work week done. I am going to rest up today and have to work tonight so I will get off for now.
