Breadmaking, fights, funky headaches and my room

I got a call from Brenda this morning while I was making up my invoice for interpreting this morning. It was good to just chat. Then I got the girls up and we reversed order of how we do things. We did the bread this morning made enough for four loaves and fried bread for lunch. It is sooo sooo good. My house smells wonderful. The girls have fought for three days straight and I had it, so I sent them over to the church to see their Dad and they came back so much better.

Been having funky headaches again, like the type that put me in the hospital before, also having trouble with my words, cant articulate really well. Laid down for awhile and it seemed to pass I will see the doctor if it continues. My room is a pit, I dont know why but it is the dumping ground for everything. I am hoping to make it better sometime soon!

School work is done for the day, got the DIVE cd and it has made Algebra so much easier for MLK, so now we are using it for both MDK and MLK (algebra 1\2 and algebra 1) MDK is getting better at writing it is the last great frontier, but have made great strides already. I am hoping for basic writing skills for her, nothing like MLK skills. I also hope that MLK will gain enough skills in the kitchen to not starve, unlike MDK skills there. Such different kids.

cleaning garages peanut butter cookies and a mouse

We got our school work done and Dave and I got our year budget done, debt snowball, and other stuff done for our Wed. night class. We throughly cleaned the garage and a mouse attacked us!!
The mouse really just hid from us finally the cats got him, yeah!

Went to town and spent money on odds and ends and then came back, now we are sitting down to Scrabble, supper and peanut butter cookies (MLK). MLK says she can beat all us in the sleep, we will see I am up to the challange.

Well better go beat MLK!!

symbosis, parasites, flukes and other gross things

MLK is doing really gross research paper for the Science Fair. She has been fasicinated with it and spent a good chunk of the weekend wrapped up in it. Parasites, (and yes we are thinking about ordering some cheap examples) are her topic. Pretty interesting stuff! She has been having insomina like she usually has around her time of the month so she has been up doing all sorts of homework and getting ahead. We are very close to being where we need to be. It is exiciting. We are considering putting up a timeline in the hallway. When we were out on the route with Dave we did a whole hour of history stumpers. We had to come up with history questions to stump each other. Dave got me on a few of them and so did MLK, mostly on Asian cultures. Then we did Math, helps to sharpen the mental math gears. We were dividing fractions in our heads. I so enjoy the flexibilty that we have with homeschooling, in the car in the house with a mouse, in a boat with a goat. Sorry I Dr. Suess that last line.

I am hoping to bake today, clean the laundry room, hopefully Dave will have the afternoon off and we will try to have a family game night and do a project together. Planning on being a homebody this week. Got my towel and linen closet clean last week. Trying to nail away a thing at a time. Plan to soft scrub both doors this week. They look nasty. The snow melted and got most of the trash out of the yard and garage.

Justin is a liar, the kid came waltzing back into our lives a few months ago wanting advise, he wanted to know what we thought of the air national guard, we said it would be a good move for his family. He has a wife and a kid and he is 19. So he signed up, this kid has had trouble in the past, but supposed had changed. While this last weekend he said he had college classes at Trenton over the weekend, and that the national guard needed him over there. Dave said he could get him over there and do his redbox route from there. So Dave dropped him off to meet his sarge, which was his "other" woman. He had carefully planned out a large and elaborate lie, which fooled us all untill this next weekend when he went back to her. He ended coming back to his wife and they both came to the church last night. Justin was confronted with my husband, me, Barb Denny who is over him at the national guard, and Bob. However throughout the conversation, he did not have a repentative heart at all. He was upset that he got caught that was all. I dont want him ever in my house again. He had a chance and he had the ability to change his life but choose not to. the verse in the Bible that says as the dog returns to his volmit. That is such a truth.

May crawl into bed for a few more minutes sleep.

been lied to

We have been trying to help a young man in our congretation that we have helped before but he lied to us and we have caught him in a lie and Dave is just steaming mad. Dave will put up with alot and take alot of grief but will not tolerate a liar.

Finishing odds and ends with the girls schoolwork today, taking it easy catching up on some sleep today and hope to make some cookies.

Well off to the races.

late last night

Had two late nights in a row, helping Dave, school work has been going rather well, I think we may hit a stride but dont wish to elobrate as I may jinx it!

My sis turned 29 again, it is amazing how many times a person can be 29. Mom is doing better and Dave is still a little puny from the flu but better.

MDK is getting ready for the Rev. War and we are watching a great mini series called Liberty that goes with it. MLK is reading Robinson Crusoe and he just meet Friday yesterday. Just got a few final details and I will feel like it is up to snuff.

I cleaned out the linen closet yesterday, worked on laundry, and liscenced the truck. I think today I will be liscencing the church bus.

Finally I feel like it I am not going back to work that I am not on an extended vacation. God just keeps reconfirming this decision, it makes no sense, but he keeps giving us deals and sending messages that this was the right turn for us. Like I said from a human standpoint it makes no sense at all.

Well better get the girls up and get started.

oliver twist and a clean room

Today I would consider pretty sucessful, both rooms are clean, the living room and kitchen are clean, the bathroom is pretty clean and MLK and I went to see Oliver Twist with the homeschool families, there were well over 90 people there, because we filled up all the seats in the theatre section of the library. It was nice, it was different version, it was actually the stage production that the group will be doing this spring. We are sitting out for now, girls are learning to sew and crochet off different people in our church. We are also needing the time to get the house and school work in ship shape. MDK is catching up she had 1/2 the week off due to flu last week. MLK is doing better however we are getting a Dive CD for Mom as we are about to lesson 50 (halfway) and Mom is feeling a little rusty on the Algebra. Dad gets it but Mom is the one at home now and needs to get it on a day to day basis as Dad is out on his route. Math is kinda behind as we did alot of review of weak areas this fall. However that reinforced and made things clearer for her. We should be done with Math towards the end of May.

Well we are going to watch educational movie and eat pizza now.

a quick run and cleaning

Yes we are cleaning yet once again, MLK has to learn the finer details of cleaning, she is not a detail oriented person. I understand how my mom must have felt with me and cooking. I am afraid that she will wake up one morning in her apt. and not be able to get to her front door. The same instruction is given to MDK and yet she understands how. Unsure of what it is there.

Did a quick run to Athicison this morning with Dave, girls cleaned out trash they just threw in the garage, without thought, wasnt as much fun when you have to redo a job when it is this cold and the dogs tore through it all, maybe they will learn, but not sure.

Going through a hall closet threw out a bag and half full of old stuff, cards and junk. I need to put it all back in now, but was doing bills, and computer work for a moment. Just keep chipping away at things.

Well back to the closet.

frugality, are we well yet, and other random thoughts

Well today was a different day, we took off I turned in my interpreter phone (no good deed goes unpunished), and then we started our day. We went to Vaterott got cheap haircuts, eyebrow waxes and then divided a sub from Walmart, dropped off the van to get it detailed the guy gave us a ride to the library we did school work there in the downtown library nice view quiet spot got alot done. Then we got our van, (it is sooo clean) went to Good will, got two books, a nice skirt for me, a tailored jean jacket for MDK, and a brand new bag pack all for 15 dollars. Then we went to Michaels used my gift certificate and got MDK a sewing basket and a good pair of scissors(she starts sewing soon) then we went on to Green Hills (65 dollars of groceries) and Fazolis spent as much there as at Good will and then came home. Frugality was the name of the game today, but a good time was had by all. Even got a resonable price on the detailing job on the van.

Finally I think we are over the flu yeah!!!

Other random thoughts, am I making forward progress on this house, I quess Rome was not conquered overnight and this house will not be also. Little baby steps to the house of my dreams that is clean!!! Meg is working on a Thomas Kinkade puzzle, it has 700 pieces I would say she is 1/3 of the way done, she is enjoying it, and did alot while she was sick, this is the first day she put in a full load of school and the first day she hasnt thrown up.

Steve is coming down this weekend, he is going to help Dave put in wires and get the car that we bought from him up and running (distributor cap)

Well the restroom is calling bye!

Mom's out of surgery yeah

Just got a call that Mom is out of surgery she got her gallbladder out today, she will proably have to spend the night and go home in the morning, she will not be happy that she has to stay the night. They said she had the shakes coming out of recovery, but is doing well. I am glad that is done. I worry about her, she is not getting younger. However both my parents overall health is very good.

Today has been a somewhat productive day, MDK is still pukey, so school has not happened yet, however tommorow I think and pray we can start with her. MLK has been moving right along. We have implemented a new system where they earn computer and phone time, that way we dont have a constant arguement on you dont have your chores done and such. All in all today is going rather well. I am going to go lay down for my half hour nap soon and then get up and go again. Well better get off here.

a new idea

Well I just got done formulating a new idea, actually it was part Dave's idea. We are posting chore list check off in each room. Then we have a privilege cost sheet in each room. We have fake money to be redeemed for the phone, tv and computer.

The girls are obedient in action but not in their heart sometimes, they resent having to do certain things and a constant struggle on I finished the kitchen or whatever chore is always happening. I am in hopes that with a checklist and money earned the ball will be firmly in their court. If they want to call friends did they get their stuff done? It is worth a try, they know how to do almost everything, the next step is building in the internal alert system that they know they need to do these things.

MDK still sick today, and MLK is grumpy. Well better get off here and get around. Will update you on how things go today.

had a great time

We all took off for a mini mini vacation, we stayed in a hotel next to where Dave picks up the dvds. The girls played in the water park, and we sat in the whirlpool tub in the room. It was awesome and very homey nice and relaxing, then today while MLK did homework on the road, MDK did the pucking, round three of the flu.

We may not be quite in a routine yet, but the girls are starting to adjust to the new norm and I am enjoying it also.

We will be starting Fincinial Peace University soon at the church, I think it will be a good thing for our church.

Well supper is done gotta go.

getting better

MLK and I are finally getting better after the flu, it was a long haul as we were feeling so awful. Had a soup supper last night, it was nice and relaxing and really good.

Tommorow we may suprise the girls and go to Great Wolf Lodge, Dave is wanting to clear his head, he said something to the effect of let me off the train. It has been pretty non stop stuff since long before Christmas.

Well better get around.

going home

I am headed out pretty early this morning to get home to Dave. He sounds rather frazzled from hangover(emotional) from the funeral. He is also just swamped with about a million little things he needs done. So I am in hopes that I can help him get alot of things done.

Mom has the flu also so she is in bed, Dad is off hauling the Amish. We will do some school work on the way home. Chat more later

Bach had 20 kids

Hi blogging from Moms house. We are up for a visit and we are sorting through Gmas things. We have been doing our full school load here, it has been a quiet and nice visit. Went and saw Brenda and Kevin last night since MJ will be in school today and not get to play with the girls. Kevin is doing so much better but bored to death. His pain is much more tolerable. We got to squeeze the baby also.

Yesterday we started Great Composer and our first one was Bach, interesting fact was he had 20 kids. wow that is alot of kids and he taught them all to play some sort of instrument.

Well better go and get the girls around soon.

wow what a wierd week

Grandpa Henderson died New Years day and so we went to Iowa for that. It was a bizzare time. We had not visited gpa for the last three years due to his mental health detoritating and becoming sexual in nature. We didnt want to expose our children to that. The family had all decided that he needed to be some where these mental health issues could be dealt with. However his uncle John changed his mind (mostly because of money) and decided to support Gma in keeping him at home which we felt was not a safe option for her or him.

Flash forward three years to this last week. We visited with him when he was semi consicious and not a threat and a few days later he died. John is Daves uncle and a true narassitic person. He and his children refused to talk to any of us at all which is fine, akward but fine. The problem erupted when the minister called Viv on Thursday and then she called her Mom. Cathy said she couldnt talk to her cause she was busy. Viv asked busy doing what, thinking funeral plans were most important at this time. Busy talking to a realitor, Viv was irate. John and Cathy were pushing Gma hand to sell the house so they could have Gma live next to them and use her money as they saw fit. Viv felt Gma was being taking advantage and went over to the house to talk to her Mom and they wouldnt let her and pushed her down in the chair, shouting happened and they called the police (who didnt come). We all ended up not sitting next to John and Cathy. It was all over a very sad thing. I think that this side of the family will not be talking to John or Cathy ever again. It was just plain slimy what they are doing.

Kevin my brother in law came through surgery well, but is having a hard time with the pain, hoping that will subside soon for him. I knew that the surgery would not be hard but the pain and soreness and the therapy will be the rough go. Hope he feels a little better every day.

I went with the girls Bible quizzing yesterday, MLK did well, and MDK did okay, the youngest had not studied as hard but managed to quiz out a few times. MLK quized out or got 4 almost every time. The teams didnt do as hot, due to being off Christmas and ice storms, I think they will rally however.

Packing school and headed to Iowa again to see my Mom.

Well better get off her and get everyone up soon.

news years resolution

OK I really hate New Years resolution but here it goes, I will be more industrious, is that vague enough not to break. Actually, I feel like I need to make sure that I dont become a procastinator, with my new life, it is an easy trap I could fall into.

This morning I am doing the big haul on the bathroom, I am using a toothbrush a big trash bag and lots and lots of elbow grease, it is maybe one third done and I have been in there an hour, I am doing it all the woodwork the vent the walls, the toliet everything.

Made a very quick run back to Iowa (24 hour) Gpa Henderson is on his way out, also purchased Gma car. Then hurried back for the lock in, I went to bed at about 9:30 last night and slept till 7 and I still feel tired. I must be trying to catch something. Well better get back to being industrious.

This is a blog to share with family and friends.A recording of our everyday happening, a modern day diary.
