a quiet morning after the rain

I am all alone in my house this morning as Dave has taken MDK to her class and then is off to work.  Everything is quiet and cool around the house, and pretty much the house is clean.  I am thinking about doing a little bit of sewing before going to work.  I work daytime hours today and tommorow so I will see if I like them or not.  This weekend we are going garage saling in Savvanah and I will proably do a little bit of gardening.  Cant believe it is pretty much June, wow did May go by fast.  MDK is doing alot of Spanish and has to go this Friday due to the holiday on Monday.  Well better get around.

on being 42

Well it is official I am now 42 years old!  So I didnt do much for my birthday, helped Denise out while she went to the dentist and filled out some paperwork for her work.  I had some ice cream and Dave brought home some roses.  I did a little bit of housework and watched some tv.  Today I have off and then I start another three day stretch of work.  Have to take Meg to class today cause her car is up at King City to be inspected.  Well better get off here and get in the shower. 

memory

I am currently listening to a audio book about memory, it is about a lady named Jill that remembers everything about her life.  She can tell you what day of the week, and what happened in her life for every day since she was about 13.  The whole book is all about how memory is made stored and her unique story. I thought I would record my earliest memories just for fun.

My very first memory was a huge hippo coming out of the water and spraying water and me being at the back of a boat on a bench, I remember it scared me to death.  Also some other really early memories include, sitting in the car looking out the window, it was a big city as there were no trains just stores and sidewalks and seeing this lady with like a tiger on a leash.  Also I sorta remember staring out of a window down onto a sidewalk, I think I was standing on a couch.  I also remember seeing Mom by a stove or sink with a door to her left and this long narrow room and I think like cabinents above her head.  Also remember this really crooked street with flowers.  Most of my stronger memories start in Rhodes Iowa. 

Well one more day of work and then some days off better go.

strawberries

We have strawberries not a huge amount but boy are they good.  I just finished mowing the lawn the part I do and I think MDK and Dave are going to piece away at getting the lawn caught back up the trimming has not been done for almost a month and it shows.  Dave got me a hammock for my bday so I think he may put it up later.  I worked last night and will leave here in about an hour.  I am coughing up lose junk right now and a little wired still with the steriods.  The traffic on the phones weren't bad at all, holiday weekend and all.  I work again tommorow night.  Well better go for now.

looking forward to next year

Well today I was feeling somewhat better, breathing what a nice thought :)  So the senior for next year got together today at the Ice Rink so that the kids could skate together and so everyone could come together and pick the possible dates.  To reserve a church we have to do it early as to not compete with weddings.  May 4th at Fredrick is the day we will be doing as of now.  So MDK had yearbook meeting after that and I went and got groceries, walmart stuff and various chores and stuff needed to be done in Saint Joe.  Then I picked up Meg and took her friend home and we came home.  We got rain with some hail, just checked on the greenhouse and the gardens and everything is good and just a little bunged up.  I also got some material for MDK quilt that I will be making.  I started crocheting again as I feel the wrist is now completly healed.  I do kinda have a glitch on the opposite of the knee I fell on so hopefully that wont become an issue.  I am pooped now that I am home so I will take it easy I work this weekend.  Well better go for now.

feeling some better

Well I am feeling some better this morning, I did very very little yesterday, I did the dishes and one load of laundry and that was all she wrote yesterday.  I had a whopper of a headache almost migrine like, I think due to the steriods, lived on four iboprofins most of the day and actually drank some caffinee to help with that to get some relief.  However I am breathing again and my cough is loose and productive now.  I actually slept also which is amazing after taking that many steriods.  I have to get groceries and also have a senior meeting this morning to jumpstart MDK's next year.  We meet early just to pick a date and a place and then the rest of the stuff starts this fall.  MDK is desperately finishing off her junior year as she is a tad behind due to suspending stuff for that really rough socialiogy class.
MLK came for a short visit and supper last night, she had seen her Doctor and he gave her another diagnois on top of bi-polar, basically it has to do with her social awkardness, inablity to read people and has also a motor skill issue with it.  I can see how it fits, because the girl cant walk across a room without tripping and also driving was a really hard skill for her to master.  It really changes nothing but it was a tad upsetting for her.  We all sat down and talked to her about it and I think it gave her some perspective.  She is doing well living on campus and glad she chose to do it during the summer as she doesnt have to balance alot of stuff with this new experience.  MDK starts her spanish class this coming Tuesday she is looking forward to the class dreading the work.  I have a holly hock growing by the front of the garage so I will need to move some flowers around the bend before they die lack of sunlight.  My flowers are doing awesome and I need to pick them today.  Well gotta get around.

it's so snot funny

We went home for the weekend and was able to see family, pick up stuff and attend a graduation and graduation party.  It was nice but I have been sick the entire time I just feel gross.  So big plans today is to get to feeling better.  I hate being sick and I am so not a fun person to be around when I am ill.  If I have some energy today I am going to try to clean some too. 

forgot my password

Well i havent blogged in a little while as I forgot my password and had a fun time getting it reset. A time of changes has been happening here.  The girls finished their college classes and got all A's and B's.  MDK signed up for Spanish 1 summer course which will be intense it only lasts four weeks.  Then we sat down and fiqured she only has Chemistry and personal finance left her Senior year.  She took the summer off from work to be able to finish school work do camp voulenteering and such then she will go back first of August (she was able to take leave).  I think she will work mornings this fall at Mc D's.  MLK moved into the dorms last night, she left half the stuff she needed at home so been bringing stuff by when she calls.  She and I went shopping getting all those things an indvidual needs to start off with.  She had to put out a chunk of change, and she said words I thought I would never hear.  "You really dont understand what you got at home, because food and clothes just magically appear"  she got settled and spent her first night there.  She meets with VR to see what type of help she can get tommorow. 

My body and I are still trying to work the change of hours working second shift does to one's person.  I think that I am not winning I know in time it will adjust it just doing it slower than I like.  This weekend we are headed home for Kelly's graduation.  Well better get off here for now.

it's done

Well MLK took her last exam yesterday, so she is officially done until Fall.  So that is a good thing for her now she will be working full time till first of August.  I am at home today tomorrow and Thurs. without work.  I sent an email done to see if there were any hot spots for tomorrow  or Thursday.  I couldnt go down today as I spent most of the night throwing up and the other end also and feel mighty wiped out today.  I am wondering if it was something I ate, because it came quick and left quick.  Just feeling washed out today.  Plan to plug away at the house today.  MDK went with Denise to see family and help her out on the road.  I hope they both have a good time.  We took some pictures on Sunday of my girls with Alana.  She is growing really fast, now if she would just sleep through the night and let her Mom sleep would be an awesome thing.  Well better get around and do my chores for today.

my new job and a big adjustment

Well my new job is going okay, it is very different, and such a variety of things you interpret for, from big squabbles to customer care, to kids letting mom know they got home safe.  A little bit of everything in life.  I am adjusting okay, still having fun with my nemisis fingerspelling, makes me crazy!!!!!  I can see I am doing better and can see that I should be able to get over the hump in my next test.  Well anyway.

Everyone at home is adjusting to my new job, and kinda my new attiude,  I have really gotten into a mindset of I can only do what I can do and you can take my opnion or leave it, its not bothering me.  I just realized that I was worrying too much about everything and that I really needed to take care of myself and then I can better take care of others.  So I am allowing myself the ability to enjoy some of the things I want to do getting enough sleep and all, etc.  Basically I have really started to detach myself from my oldest.  She has to fly or crash on her own two wings.  This doesnt make for a happy camper sometimes.  She had taken off a half day of work, to study for finals.  (they are okay with that since it is a campus job)  Well I ticked her off because I took a nap... I said oh well too bad so sad.  I am not taking this class it is a nice thing that I do helping you study not my job that would be oh your job.  Anyway, she had to replace two tires, and buy glasses and she has finals so I think she is just stressed.  I am suppose to take pictures today but it looks like rain.  Well better go for now.
