good night with the continentals

Good night the young continentals performed tonight it was and excellent performance and they will be leaving at 5 am. ugh. Then we get on the road for my test in Jefferson City. Tommorow or the next day I will be nailing everyone down to the nights they will be working for the fireworks tent. Anyway gotta keep this short and then I will let ya all know how the test goes tommorow.

the young continentals

The singing group the young continentals are with us today and were here last night. They have their performance tonight. The house is super clean which greatly pleases me. I have to work today and today is cooking class, which just blows me away that of all people I would be teaching a cooking class.

MLK went to World of Fun yesterday looks like she had a blast I was asleep when she got home.

Tommorow I will be going to Jefferson City to take my level four test. Prayers will be much needed. We leave first thing tommorow morning.

been awhile

Sorry guys, it has been awhile since I blogged.

Well last week, MDK went to Iowa to take her ITBS test and next week MLK will go and take her tests. MLK had an awesome time at camp and it was a good full week of Bible study she came back with a better overall attiude and she also won 2nd place as overall in Bible quizzing and memorizing. She meet some new friends and grew some stronger relationships with some of the girls in our church. She is at World of fun today with her best friend, she will have to do the windows when she gets home to pay for the ticket. In another month she will be off to tour with her choir.

MDK is busy taking care of her new kitten, his name is Felix and extremely ornery and very very cute. After the fourth of July we will start doing some summer"school" activity, we will have had a whole month off with nothing and will only hit the highlites of stuff in July we will start full force in August. We may start right after vacation so that we can all take a break when the new baby comes.

Dave has been having pretty good health, still has some pain and numbnesss esp on his left side, it comes and goes but overall so much better, I am afraid not to hold my breath afraid it will all come back.

My foot is so much better now I am just working on endurance. The constant pain is gone I am sometimes stiff and sore and if I push it too much it blows up like a balloon. I think with time and constant exercise it will get even better.

VBS will start in two weeks and I am so not ready for that. I will be doing 5th and 6th grade girls.

Had a fanatastic Sunday with a great message on prayer, hopefully everyone took it to heart, we have a singing group in today and tommorow, we will be housing four girls. Everyone pitched in and cleaned the house the only thing I have left is my room.

Well better go and clean.

a new kitty

Felix and not Alex is the new name of our new kitty. He is a cutie and loud, he is a little butterball. Dave thought the name Felix from the old cartoon would be fun.

We are starting to dig out from under the medical mess that we had, things have turned around some and that is some relief. Life is not quite so bumpy, which helps the stress factor. Church has been a little hit and miss but doing better. The attiude is coming around though, and it is getting bettter.

camp, test, and laundry

MLK is off to camp and from the reports we here is doing well and enjoying it! MDK just finished her ITBS at her grandparents, Dave and I were alone for two days. We are welcoming a new kitty to our family, according to MDK his name is Alex and completely black. I am doing lots of laundry while they are gone.

Well I am at work so must keep it short.

Daddy's Day

We had a good church service, and MLK is packing for camp. Seems that her choir practice went well and she is looking forward to the tour in August. Had a youth auction last night and raised some money for camp and summer activity. They will also do a firework tent to get the rest of the funds.

Tonight is a Father's day picnic and VBS adult study. Well better get around for the picnic.

the queen of insomina

MLK is the queen of insomina, this is the third day running that she has had sporadtic sleep. So out comes the mean mom. What I usually have to do is wake her up early and work her hard all day, and keep her up till she drops and then her body will straighten out. She is alot like her father, who finally as he gets closer to middle age doesnt seem to have that problem as much anymore. I rarely have insomina so I really dont get it.

MDK had a ball game last night made some good plays but struck out which ticked her off. She is very impatient with herself. We have another ball game tonight.

Hope to get this house wiped into a decent shape. The girls wont like it but we are going to get it done.

not as tired today

Yesterday for some odd reason I hit this brick wall of sleep about 4 pm at work, wow I was tired, so I went to bed early last night and am feeling alot better this morning. Today I travel alot for work, which gets rather boring at times.

The girls yesterday were out in the pool most of the day, and Dave and I got to enjoy the swing in the evening. Something about rocking back and forth relaxs a person.

Tommorow the family, all except me goes down to MLK practice for choir. I will be all alone. Boo HOO, I have a workshop that I am hosting this weekend. Hope it all goes well.

outside beatuiful now

Dave and I had the day off, and so what did we do we worked, well he worked and I hobbled around. My therapy this morning was gruealing and my ankle responded back by swelling, however not bad much better than it has been. Dave and I got some flowers for the front, and a swing with canopy. It was inexpensive but so nice and it reminds me of our first home, with a porch swing, someone gave us a pool to put up and we pruned out all the dead stuff. We lost our willow tree but are trying to root the saplings we will see how that goes. We may try to make Tuesday, family work days while the girls are off school work. We have alot of little projects to do, but today it feels like we got something accomplished. Sometimes in the house it looks like we didnt really do anything.

We are proably going to watch some CSI from netflix and call it a night. MLK goes to camp next week and has youth choir practice this weekend. I have an interpreter workshop this Saturday. Well off for now, MDK made summer and it is time to eat.

a late game and a strong breeze

MDK won her game tonight. It didnt start till almost nine because the boys game went long. Had a good time joking with the fellow parents and watching the girls. MDK make two great plays, she plays third base. I really enjoyed just sitting and watching. Well I will blog more later.

I am sitting in my lazy boy chair, with a soft breeze blowing the curtains, a rumbling storm in the distance, and birds singing their song. A overcast sky agaisnt a hayfield is my view. Just sitting here in this moment what a gift.

This morning I teach SS class, I have the adult women class, a new thing for me as I have not taught adults in a long time. We do enjoy each other company and learn together.

Deaf club last night was a flop only three other beside myself showed, we all played one round of mini golf and then went home. The girls did their chores yesterday and then went to church softball practice, swimming and then to another church cowboy crusade. I picked them up after my event. This next weekend MLK goes to Jefferson City to practice for the choir.

got to mow mow mow

I just woke up a little bit ago, and I am going to go out and get some mowing done. Yesterday was not an extremly productive day, did alot of little things that just got undone. That is the nature of housework sometimes. It looks good for what 10 minutes. Then Dave and I went out on a "date". We got our haircut, rummaged through a book store, and out to eat.

The girls stayed home on their own while we were gone for about four hours. I worry but Dave said, Missy is old enough now to babysit little kids for the whole day, yeah I know but ... Truely both are very responsible and do fine on their own.

I was watching Waltons again last night, got Season 5 with my bday money. Dave and I had a long philospical talk about our society and the lack of childhood. Dave said we need to stick with ChristopherRobin idea. (winnie the pooh) Christopher Robin says my mom asked me what am I doing, and I said nothing and then I went outside and did it.

We need to allow kids breathing room, to do nothing to be bored to b e creative. Now mind you they should have chores, but turn off the TV and give the time and ability to be bored. Make them create thier own fun. Some of my most magical moments that stand out in my mind was wondering the woods, doing nothing. Laying on a log, mesmerized by the huge trees and leaves sun sparking and the wind whispering my name. Or thinking I was an elf hiding out under the May apple plants that were sparkling with dew. Was there any point to the play, no I was out doing nothing. When asked to picture something that gives me peace this is where I go. My out doing nothing spots.

Getting started on .lesson plans, got first semster of history in for MLK. Looking over MDK Literature set, she has a comphrensive cross curricular book that covers all the books of Narnia, it looks like it will be a blast. However how to put all that in the computer is my challenge. I wish I didnt have to record hours and do grades, just learn but that would be irresponsible of me so I will tarry on.

ahoy mates

Hey we went and saw Pirates of the Caribeen 3 last night, it was good but I am not sure I got all the twist and turns and didnt like the ending as well. The girls loved it, alot of clouds that looked bad here last inght but didnt get any rain much.

Have to get around for my last few sessions for my foot and then I will proably mow today, clean in the basement, harp on the girls to finish chores. I will also proaly do lesson plans for next year. All that should keep me busy.

Well off to the shower and into the car.

Deaf club drives me nuts, they want to blame me for everything and do nothing. They have had very few people pay dues for two years, and have done activities galore and drained their bank account. They need to take care of their affairs, I am fed up with it.

Enough ranting about that, yesterday was a productive day, did my physical therapy and that went well, then MDK to the doctor, where they gave her antiboditics, back home again, lunch, cleaned part of the house, got the school year recorded and closed (yeah!!!) and then put in the courses for next year.

I will now start lesson plans, and course descriptions for next year, I am glad to get a jump on that. I have some projects I am hoping to get done this week, going through clothes and shoes in my closet, and getting the downstairs put back together.

MLK got a new book drawing faces and features she is coming a long way in her sketching. Got MDK a lettering kit for her cakes.

We were at the library last night while Dave was at camp meeting, it was nice to just sit back for an hour or so and just read and relax.

My sister seems a little stressed with all the running, I know how that can get. Word of advice from older sisters need to fiqure out which is few things are best, cause if Mama aint happy aint no one happy. Also sometimes making that something they do with Dad or something they do with Gma also helps. I know it gets nutty and very complicated.

I am hoping all goes well with the Deaf club board meeting, they really dont want me to give them a piece of my mind.

MDK is getting sick

MDK woke up on Sat with alot of snot and it just keeps getting worse, it seems to be quickly moving downward, we gave her some over counter meds and if that doesnt help she will be going to the doctor tommorow.

Yesterday we and Bobs family went to the park with KFC chicken it was nice to get out into the open air, I think if possible I will try to get over there again soon, it was so relaxing for the whole family.

MDK kitten that she had spoken from the neighbors died yesterday she was beside herself.

Well need to get around and get off to work.

I keep yelling at the family for them to get up, they are all deaf and asleep. Mowed and mowed asnd mowed yesterday, my whole body was shaken to death, if it doesnt rain I might try to get all the dead branches out of my rose bush this afternoon.

Yesterday Dave and I went grocery shopping, so we finally have food in the house again. It was nice to be together. M&M were at a car wash that kinda flopped and then we had chores to do at home.

Friday MLK and I went to a workshop for a photovoice thing that she will be doing. She also finally got her music for the choir. Now we just need to raise 17o dollars or so.

MDK has been done with her school stuff and MLK should be done this coming Tuesday we sure hope!

Looks like it could rain again, I hope not MDK want to have ball practice tonight. More later guys got to get the family around.
