well we are back

Vacation was wonderful!!!!! It was sooo relaxing and stress free and relaxing and stress free, do you get the idea? It was a beautiful park and we slept, hiked, rowed, did quilts played board games, read, read and read, did crosswords and practiced volleyball. It was sooo good, then we say Jobie Leno (okay Jobie Lane. . . who is better than Leno), he had the crowd eating out of his hand. M. is growing up fast also, and watch out cause L. is the sneaky one. Enjoyed seeing them oh and my sister too. It was a wonderful time to reconnect as a family, loved loved loved it.

Today I see the shrink (I mean the physchtrist :) to make sure I am mentally ready for this, I am ready to get on with the show, so I will be glad to get this behind me, will post about that later. Vball is in full swing with about 6 games so far scheduled, ACT test not this Saturday but the next. Dave and the girls have a rock the light concert this weekend. I have alot of jobs coming down the pike. I need to mow the lawn before it rain again, or it will be a jungle. MLK has a bunch of chores to pay for her replacement glasses. Well the girls are around so time to get started on schoolwork.

We are almost there, almost finished with schoolwork before vacation, almost finished with housework. We are going to backbone state park and resting I am so looking forward to it.

art and vans

MLK and I went to her art lesson today, we did painting we started the background, it was challanging but fun. MLK is learning alot as much art as taking instruction from someone that is better than her. I really think I have it on the head she has been a gifted student and she is just now having to struggle to get a good mark in things. She is not use to that and it is as much a learning experience as the other. Before she was in front of everybody in subjects and such and now they will pass her if she doesnt get her butt in gear.

MDK has been reading like a crazy women she has been enjoying Gary Paulson books, esp. the Brian books, all action survival type. She is as apt to curl up with a book then anything, that makes this Mom heart feel really warm.

We got approved for the van, yeah!!!!! It will be a three year loan, which we hope to pay off in a year and half. It is a good deal, it is 2006 Blue Town and Country Chrysler stow and go seats, captain chairs.54,000 miles 3 month warrenty, very good deal for 8,000. We are so exicitied about it as we need something that isnt close to 150,000 miles or more. We are trading the purple car in. Will need to post a picture of the new dog and the van. Will be getting alot of interpreting jobs, and we are leaving on vacation this Friday!!! Working tommorow a half day and working on Friday a half day and got a job on Thursday, which will pay tax and liscence.

deep in the heart of geometry

Well we are on lesson 8 of Geomtry, we all sat down Dad included and worked on a lesson together, who thought geometry could be fun, but we laughed and giggled and made fun of each other, and got through it. We were trying to finish off an extra lesson tonight so MLK and I could get in an art lesson tommorow. We will start painting, she got her back up with Tina last week and she will need to apoligize for being stubborn this week, she gets a notion in her head and she is like a pit bull, I get so frustrated with that. That tenacity is a blessing and a curse. MDK has a rotton attiude for school but I am wearing her out fast. We are on countdown for vacation.

We talked to Clyde our associational director to see about other churches in the NW corner of MO but nothing right now so I quess we stay put till God makes it obvious. A week of recharge will be nice however. Looking forward to a break from the routine.

catching up on the news

Well first of all, here is all the news. J and M came for a fun visit, you forget how busy that age is but we all had a great time, swimming, diving off the board and Uncle Dave made pancakes and we watched movies. Didnt play outside much because of the neighbor dog. Also weighed in today and made my goal. It was anticlimatic as the biaritic team made a unilateral decision which pissed me off saying I needed to see the shrink and wanted to put me off till Oct. I was hot. Anyway I worked it out to see the shrink on the 31st and then I will get to see the doctor. Well anyway we have been doing school except when we were having the kids over. One more week till vacation. It will be fun a cabin in the woods, very exicitied to rest and relax. The drama with Bob and this family will continue as they both dont want to let go of it. Oh well, will blog more later.

constant change

Well Dave went to the doctor yesterday due to the fact that he has been having alot more MS like sympthoms, the worst of it being a bit of brain fog and inability to keep everything straight. The doctor put him on Zoloft to make sure it wasnt depression will check him again in a month and proably we will be going back to the nuerologist and thru all that again. We will wait and see the numbness he has in his legs is turning to sharp pains and the swallowing and other things are more pronounced. We knew that this could happen and we are taking it all in stride. Depression would be a nice and easy thing to deal with but we both have the feeling that is not it.

We are meeting with the associational director next Monday to discuss other churches that may need a pastor, Dave and I feel it is time to get serious about this. The church has gone about as far as it can with us. We dont know when but we do know it will happen.

The girls are made aware in vague details due to the fact they are as old as they are. They need to be aware of these things. The purple car died and wouldnt start we prayed and it barely turned over but we got it to Walmart and they put in a new battery for us. It now has a new fuel pump, air filter, sparks and wires, and a battery, hopefully it is good to go. Dave also changed the plugs in the blue car the compressor for the ac is shot but it runs and runs faithfully, will need to change the brakes in it soon.

School is going okay, we need a few less stuff to break down and it would be better. Well better go for now, seeing Dave off for the day.

so what to blog

Well not been in a blogging mood since I had my last rant. Been mowing lawn, schoolwork, errand with Dave, cleaning, phone calls, picking up parts for the car, sleeping,working, etc.

Yesterday went with Dave he had to make a run. We had a good long talk, about moving possible, life in general. It was good then I swam with MLK. MDK and I are having alot of disputes of late, most of it teenage agnst. Dave may yet have a come to Jesus meeting with her. She has been extremly edgy lately, she has been using staying up late watching movies after I fall asleep, so proably lack of sleep, will fix that.

Our new dog and Louie are starting to like each other, Gidget is really scared of men (dave thinks abuse in the past) so he has been working with her to get her over her fear. She is eating like crazy, so she should gain weight rather quickly.

Well better get around for church.

Stuck

Okay forwarning this will be a rather raw posting.

AHHHHHHHHH! I am mad at myself, my surgeon, you name I am mad. Went and weighed in today and I have 6 lbs to go before August 18. So back to the liquid diet with a small modification. I got so constipated on the last go around, I proably had about 3lbs of poop in me (I was only off by 3 lbs being able to see the surgeon). I ranted at the dietien who is a very kind lady. I know I did this to myself, just basically getting off track and eating as I see normal (which obviously is not normal or I wouldnt be where I am today). The modification the dietian says is for me to get a solid, rather that be a small snack tuna or veggies every evening. Must measure my milk as I might be getting too much of it. So will stop at Walmart and get the measuring thing a mi jig. I am so angry at everyone and everything right now. I need to most mad at myself. I just blew it off (mostly exercise-as the extreme high stress week week and half of all ten years had occured). I think looking at such a life changing altering thing coming down the road with a possible move has got me a little crazy also. So back into the saddle I go, I swear I am freaking crazy in the head and a nutjob when it comes to this part of my life. I can't seem to get any tractions, it is like my achilles heel. Screw all the people who say you just will it to happen, that is a bunch of bull crap. Let me repeat myself BULL crap!!!! People that have never had a serious weight issue can keep their mouths shut because they havent a clue, and dont know where I am coming from and dont get it. People that have serious weight struggles can talk and do understand. The last thing I need right now is some skinny little person who has gained a total of 10 lbs there whole adult life to tell me how I am screwing up. That is like me telling a cigeratte smoker how easy it is to quit when I have never ever smoked. where do people get off with assuming those types of things. Ahhh feeling better having ranted some, now down to the serious job of getting this off and getting the surgery done. Sometimes I just need to rant and rage and this is a safe and good way to blow off the steam. Now enough of that subject on to another one.

The first week of our school year has been rather lousy, as my schedule is so screwed up, but not getting bent out of shape mostly because of Dave's job, the new dog, the interpreting jobs and such. Well anything we do before vacation is just the frosting on the cake. We will be doing the cake stuff in Septemember. So anyway we have had good time with what we have gotten done and we are getting stuff done. I have what are pipe dreams and then there is reality when you homeschool. Same with any school, things happens, kids get sick, weather, etc. I need to be flexiable. Well better go picking dog up at vet from her spade.

Gidget

Our wedding anniversary for ourselves was a small dog a silkie terrior, she was going to be put down by her original owner, due to the fact she could no longer produce live puppies. Sad to say she was part of a puppy mill. She is six years old and malnourished and timid. The people that rescuced her had eight dogs and found us through common friends. She is a real doll baby that needs a lot of loving. Took her to the groomers yesterday and taking her to the vet to be spade today. Will post pictures of her later.

Well gotta get around and drop her by the vet.

it rises again

It was a fuel pump in the purple car and not the brain, yeah! However with the tow to the garage and the fixing the bill will be 600. Not bad, will put off getting a van for awhile much to MDK chagrin.

Well we started the school year, MDK didnt want to and MLK loved it. However both did well, already however a changeup due to a car shortage, we will be having to go in together this morning so school tonight, we always start slow and take a while to slip into the year just like we slowly slip out of the year. Truely amazed at the progress MDK has made just in the last year, I know she has a few weak areas but really overall a pretty average student. MLK is finally getting serious about her ACT because her friends have gotten better scores than her. I will just have her take the test as often as she can. A friend of ours at Missouri Western that is the admission officer there said that ACT is not the only thing they look at but stressed to MLK that it is an important thing they look at.

I have to work today as does Dave and it is our anniversary isnt that crazy that we have been married 19 years that is quite an accomplishment in this day and age.

The dog went wild with the horrific storm we had at 4 this morning, he just hates the noise. Needless to say we all got woke up between the dog and the storm.

the ladies conference

The Ladies Conference went so well on Saturday, it was such a huge blessing. My friend Tina was a hoot and such a wonderful speaker, it was amazing. I also had a display table and many people got my information so that was cool.

I am a little anxious about getting people to take pictures of, I really want this to suceed. I hope it does.

Starting school today or at least somewhat, we always slip into it some subjects wont start untill we get back from vacation. Dave helped me get things ready to roll, he cleaned off the computer desk and got it looking good.

Today we may buy a van, mostly because we are pretty sure the purple car is toast. We will have to borrow money much to our chargin. However we know that the remaining vehicles will not withstand the miles we put on cars if they are both the primary. So we are left with not alot of options, we are looking at a Chryler Town and Country for around 6000 dollars, so we hope we can get it paid off rather quickly.

We are too pooped to pop

Wow what a week and we arent done yet. We have had the week. The ongoing saga of the troubled teen lives on. She is finally in Smithville. This is a good thing, the poor child had so much trauma in her early life. She is so all over the place.

I am going to have a soapbox moment, in all this I think the law is really screwed up as far as seventeen year old children are concerned. Seventeen years entitles you to do as you please but makes you as a parent liable for their decision. If the child runs away the law will not bring them back, but if they misbeheave out on their own, it is your responsiblity to take care of it. If we give them the rights without the responsiblity, how stupid is that. I know after this last week I would let the prodigal in my child go wallow with the pigs and come to their senses.

On to other things, the purple car died mid route so we rented a car, pray that it is not DOA we dont have the money to afford to replace yet. We can drive the blue car and truck for awhile but they are old too. We are so close to having debt paid off and we really want to avoid a car payment.

I have been reminded this week that the Lord is so much bigger than our problems. When we were going on 3 hours of sleep, all this chaos, a million miles left to finish working this week and the car just died on the interstate. We sat and sung God is so good in our dead car on the side of the road. We knew Satan has been after us hard of late and it has been so frustrating but must keep focus on Him.

Today is the ladies conference, and the rock candy soap is soooo cute and is one of the main decorations. So proud of the girls taking care of stuff and helping out this week. Very mature of both of them. My house is looking okay. Got them both a inexpensive dress for this event, wow does MLK look sooo grown up in the dress.

We are still sensing that God would have us move, we are actually putting feelers out, brushing off the dusty resume, it is an unsettling in the heart that you get and you know that it is time for someone else to take this church in a certain direction.
