ahh the mold

Ugh there was alot of mold in the grass here, my eyes and throat are not feeling so hot after the mowing today. It was chuck full of yuck.

Yesterday some friends of mine threw me a surprise party. It really touched my heart, my bday kinda went belly up so it was nice to be touched in this manner. How sweet, we also had craft day yesterday which was a good time for both MDK and I.

The girls went over to friends house and then Dave and I went to Applebees and finished his route, it was nice to get to talk.

I am currently listening to an Audio book called Captivating by Eldridge, it is so excellent, Dave and I had good discussions about it last night. It has to do about feminity and how it reflects part of God's nature. Very interesting how God desires to be chosen, how jealous He is, very good stuff and interesting viewpoint.

Been catching up on my CEUs got one half all caught up but need to catch the other one up. Well better go lots of laundry to fold.

ITBS testing and Gma house

Well we have been at Gma house we came down monday afternoon. MDK has been doing the ITBS test it , she has been doing so well at it and very dillegent to get it all done, she is currently on her last test. There were alot more test than in years past. I am pleased with her effort, I hope I am as pleased with the score :)

MLK has been bumming while up here, and we went and saw MJ game, J and MLK went and to play on the swings and then MLK had to take him to the bathroom, she said she got him in there and quick shut the door. She is just not the babysitter type.

Been just hanging out with Mom, reading a book, and taking it easy. The girls made a pie yesterday they were so proud of the result. They tasted very yummy indeed. It now seems like summer will start, I have this mental thing that summer doesnt start till after my birthday.

Well better go for now

lazy days of summer

Today certainly felt like summer, hot and muggy. We bbq chicken and brats with salads for lunch. The family all ate together. I was not happy with MDK as she had left all silverware undone in the bottom of the sink. I washed them really quick, I have yet to fiqure out the aversion of silverware, but it is a constant thing she does. MLK and I worked on her laundry today. We all goofed off and took naps. Dave and his Dad went to town for shoes for Daves dad work. Found a great bargin on shoes at JcPenny. Watched Charlie Wilson War tonight a little racy, but Dave just wanted to bum out tonight. It is good for him to get that chance.

We had an exiciting church service this morning a over 70 lady got saved this morning, and a recent guy in his 60's that got saved a month ago came forward to do a baptism. Exiciting stuff, really. Church here is something you just dont see everywhere. God just keeps moving, we just all need to learn to keep up with HIM.

MLK has had a off day today, not bad just a little off, I have to hit a happy balance, not give her too much , or too little attention. I keep telling her the Yodi thing, "Do or do not, there is no try!" She must make it her mission to work towards healing and good habits, it is not something I can do for her. I keep providing her new challanges, esp. when it comes to crowds, that is giving her alot of trouble, church is a safe place for her, went bowling, etc. She just hasnt had a good time with crowds since this all happened. Will talk more specifically about that to the doctor about that.

MDK is ripe and full of hormones, she is changing into a young lady right in front of my eyes. Her good friend got her hair cut so she is thinking that she should get hers cut too. She is too indecisive about it, so it is a no go for now.

We will go see my folks for a few days. It will be nice to get away for a day or two. MDK will take the Iowa Basics Skills Test while at Mom and Dad. MLK takes the ACT plus writing in King City on June 14. So all testing will be done mid June. MLK wants to take the test cold which I am fine with, due to the fact I just want a baseline, it will also hone her to what she really needs to work on. I would be exicitied if she get a baseline of 18-20 on it the first time. I will be interested on how she does. MDK reading score I think will do a big jump and also her Math scores. She maybe a little weak on grammer, but strong on vocabulary, spelling is always a trick one for her. Reference materials and maps sometimes give her trouble, just need to wait and see.

Well it is getting late, better go.

memorial day weekend

Well, we are having company down. Daves dad and sister Kelly are here. We ate out in King City last night and today we are grilling out chicken. The girls all bedded down in the living room.

MLK decided going on tour this year was going to be too much this year. She is afraid of having panic attacks while on tour, which I can't blame her. She would like to try again but not this summer. I will be interested on how she will do at camp. I hope it all goes okay. MDK will be there so that will help some.

Alot of the transplants in the garden didnt make it so we will need to reseed stuff today or tommorow. That was really disappointing for MDK as she put alot of time into all of it. Well I will blog more later need to head off to church.

MLK all dressed up

laid back day

Today we slept in a little bit, Dave had a meeting in KC with Redbox team, so we went to the Walmart and finished up some shopping. MDK has grown up so much lately she lacks a half inch of getting as tall as MLK. She has completly changed shape and today we went shopping for well fitting undergarments. She was soooo emberassed. We also got summer pj, underwear, t shirts, we need to get a few more pair of shorts for both of them and they should be set.

Dave wanted us to go along as this week has been so hit and miss with all of us being together, so we went with him, it was kinda of a lazy day with the girls sleeping in the car. Tonight if church meetings get done early enough we will try to finish some more kiosks. We try to make a short trip once a week and do kiosks together as this gives us a sorta of "date night", well at least get to talk in the car plan and listen to each other.

The girls and I went to see a afternoon showing of Prince Caspian, it was really good, did not stray too far from the storyline, MDK let us know when it did. Both girls thought the Prince was tooooooo good looking and had such a niceeeeee accent.

I am done with prison jobs till the first of June due to some stuff coming up with their training. I do okay with it there but it is rather an odd feeling, kinda like walking down an alley wondering if something will jump out at you. Well I think it is just smart to have your guard up while working there.

I am trying really hard to double duty all errands, if Dave is going on the route and we need to grocery shop that is what I do, if I have a job and the girls have an activity that is when I will drop them off at the library and then do the job pick them up and then do the activity. Plan to do this tommorow. It is better when the gas mileage is on someone else.

The house is doing better, I think the girls are getting the swing of it, do it right do it once get it done. Now mind you they miss the details alot, but honestly as far as housework they could get along without me and do okay, they could survive.

Need to help with MLK driving, but dont enjoy that too much. Well better get off here.

a bump in the road

Well MLK had a bump in the road, we got her all dressed up and she looked great, and we went to the formal and she made it for an hour. She had a huge panic attack, she hadnt had one for about three weeks. I picked her up early, she was so upset and mad at herself, and said she wished she had never gone. She is so afraid of what others will think of her. So she came home and started feeling sorry for herself, we sit her down on Sunday and had a long talk.

The root of the issue and maybe I am way off base is that MLK is a very spirtual kid, always has been. She is still mad at God, says Dad didnt deserve to be sick and she got really mad when God didnt answer her prayers the way she wanted. So MLK has a void in her life that only God can fill, but she wont let Him. We sat her down and Denise sat down with her and we had a long talk, she got mad. We said you are deciding the course of the next few years of your life now. You will decide what will happen and the direction you will head now. Denise told her all the hurts that have happened to her from making a wrong choice way back in her teen years and how much she wants her to avoid that. MLK is at least mulling all this over in her head. I know that there is a mental health component to this (I know this struggle personally) and we are treating that with medicines and therapy, but I also know there is strong spiritual component to this.

We got the garden in yesterday, it looks so nice and Dave was such a blessing, getting that all done. I so appreciate my husband, he works so hard for all of us. I do alot of interpreting this week. Work all the rest of the week and a full day on Wednesday. It should be good money to throw at debt!

Well better go!

MDK should start sewing again. Looking forward to vacation, plans for today are to get the house clean and the laundry done, and get another new liscence, lost mine cant find it anywhere!!!

the grand campout

Okay before I get started, if anyone wants to print out all of my blogs and put them in a fancy something for me for a Christmas gift that would be so cool.

Well the girls set up our tent and then ran electricity to it, and had a campout, I went and got hot dogs and smore stuff and we set the stump on fire again and then we roasted hot dogs and had smores. I was afraid it might get too cold for them but they made it all last night. Now they are taking care of everything in the tent putting it away. They had a light and a stereo out there so they didnt rough it too hard. You could hear them giggle as Dave and I feel asleep.

Looking forward to vacation, will be going to a cabin in the woods and doing very little. Hoping to have good weather.

MDK has been watching Science videos for some hours to finish out her year, she has done all her subjects however lacks some hours. MLK is completely done now. Yeah for that.

We just found out that the mental health thing in our insurance pays 60/40 but our cap is 3000 need to do some more checking on that at the beggining of the week.

We are doing better with our overall debt, we have been working hard to eleminate it all. It has been quite a challange. Medical debt can just overtake you and put you in a tailspin. However, if all goes well we should be debt free by Jan. Good insurance is a godsend.

Hoping to get garden in today, mowed the lawn yesterday and got a sunburn. Today is MLK formal. Will take pictures and post them.

Been doing alot of interpreting jobs lately, that is a good thing, helps out on the bills and paying off debt. It seems that since I came home our finicial picture has gotten better. I quess that with Daves insurance bringing our insurance cost done and doing a better coverage. We went from almost 700 to 250 for the family. Got rid of the van payment another 260 a month. Insurance for vehicles done from 150 to 75. Less gas being used and that has got to be a saving due to cost of gas now. No business lunches. Then God has blessed us with a variety of neat things since I came home. Showing us that it was the right move. We have not really felt a huge pinch. I could tighten the belt even more and be more aggresive then we are right now. We were really aggresive before the medical problems with MLK, need to get back there. However when crisis hits, you just need to survive. We will get more aggresive after vacation, not that we arent now, just we will proably get miserly afterwards. Need the time to regroup, and make a plan for the rest of the year and vacation should give this.

Well better go.

mow, mow, mow the lawn

Well plans for today is to get garden in, help Dave at office, mow, and put in some final grades. I enjoy mowing the lawn, I know that sounds really wierd but it gives me time to ponder on things and just get stuff sorted in my head. I like the green grass, seeing little bunnies, watching the birds and the accomplishment of getting it all done.

The garden, I have been dying to get that done, dont tell the girls but this will be an all family project. We will transplant all MDK plants that grew. I have alot of tomato plants again, hope to find a canner soon. May go garage selling tommorow, not sure will wait and see.

Went to Aldis yesterday and got a ton of groceries for 60 bucks. Will try to take MLK photo's in her dress today. That will be fun. Both girls will have friends over. The younger sibling can be hard to suit but hopefully it will all go okay.

Well best go for now.

Many a errand

Well went into St Joe today and had the longest errand day of the year. First stopped and got two new tires on the way in for my car. Then swung by and helped Dave, took girls to library, swung back helped again, took dog to groomer, helped Dave again, went to Walmart bought strapless bra, went to Lowes got rock, went to Quick Lube got oil change, went to Dollar Store for misc. stuff, went to Aldi, for groceries, then to ball game double header. Finally I am home.

MDK has been invitied to finish the season with this team, she is so estatic. Glad for her, have extra girls tommorow plan to put in garden (crossing fingers) and mow lawn. Was to have a craft day but it was moved back two weeks. Got a new season of Waltons for my birthday.

Well running out of brain cells must call it quits for tonight.

Done for the most part

Well MLK finished off her Math yesterday, the angels sang and the earth shook. No but really it kinda feels like that. She has two more Art lessons and she is done done. MDK has to log about 80 more hours which she will do with ITBS testing, Science videos and free reading time. Both girls have to do at least 1000 hours a year. So I am finishing off portfolios, getting grades in and shelfing books. I have also started formulating next years list of materials.

The girls got caught up on their rest yesterday and then we cleaned, however I think we just ran around in circles. I am unsure anything got accomplished. I got all but two bundles of laundry folded.

Working at the prison can kinda give you the heebee jeebies, you are wondering which one are the druggies and which steal and which murder. You know the ones that have been their a long time proably killed someone. However they wouldnt be in the class if they hadnt behaved themselves for a long time. Also you have a personal alarm with you and their are officers right there.

Hoping to get garden in before June, it just keeps raining and that keeps me out of the garden, Dave needs to get the tiller going. Had a flat yesterday Todd came and helped me change it and another guy did to, also highway patrol stopped to help me. I will get two new tires on the back tommorow morning.

Today I work at Stanberry school last day before the last day of school, taking a book as there will be alot of down time.

Well better get around make out the chore list for the girls and get dressed for work.

laundry and prison

Did 11 loads of laundry, that is alot of laundry but it does feel good to have it all caught up. Took a long nap on mothers day and worked on this that and the next cleaning upstairs, piecing away at the office downstairs.

I am interpreting at the prison the next few weeks, it is an awkard and nerve wrecking feelt o be behind those fences and going through the locks. The classrooms are alot of a feel of public school classrooms I have interpreted in, however it is an extremely tight ship, they mouth off and they go back to the can, they dont get any wiggle room, the people in the class are the nice orderly ones.

Go from not having any sign language jobs to alot. No happy balance with it. Oh well take it when you get it.

Well better go for now.

breathe in the green

I am so enjoying the green green grass, hoping to finish tilling today. I would like to get the garden in this year. The rain comes every other day here!!! Had two interpreting jobs yesterday, made some good money have a stint of them for the next three weeks. Woke up today having the lazies. Been playing on the computer, watching Duggar family (family of 17 kids) on the internet.

Yesterday was a good time with MDK, we got Math ( the last final subject for her) then headed out to my job, she went to the library, got book and played chess on their video, my job was only an hour, then we went shopping, got a bday gift for her friend, I got a makeup kit that no one is to touch (they dont borrow my clothes, but they steal my makeup all the time), also got black gloves and necklace and earrings for MLK formal banquet. Then I got new bras and we got ice cream. Off to Walmart for misc. stuff and then dropped MDK off at bday party and then back to next job out in Kansas. Then home again, a Enterprise show and off to bed.

Today we have to mow just the front and then I want the garden in, more housework and going to a play today. Hope to grill out this afternoon!! MLK has been kicking butt on the Math, she got the fever since some of her friends will be done next week with school. Art is a glitch for her, we did come up with a compromise, that she would not do the last module this year, she will have enough hours to give her an Art Credit for this year (120-150 hr per credit). She has logged around 1200 hours of school. That is alot of work. She is looking forward to being done, and so am I, my goal is to get their portfolios done before we go on vacation and also need to do resource sheet for MLK and her transcript. MDK will be taking ITBS with Dad, MLK will take ACT test this fall, for a record of progress. I feel that this is important for record keeping. I have thought about doing it every other year, but decided agaisnt it.

So enjoying the nice flowers and green things it was such a long winter!
OFF to mow!

back to normal maybe

Well this week has been somewhat normal, that is a nice word to say. I have been able to be home and get some stuff done, the lawn is mowed half the garden got tilled, before the rains again. Hope to finish tilling this weekend if it will dry out. The house is in okay shape, something we will finish off today hopefully. Hope to make bread today. Maybe MLK can make cookies also.

Hope to get grades in for the girls work on Math and Art (the last two subjects) and then work on my Sign Language CEU's.

Well talk more later

crazy

Well went on a trip by myself and thought and prayed and it was good for me, it brought me back into focus. Monday we all got the yard work done and part of the garden tilling. Then yesterday was not so great a day and then today is okay day. Lots of stuff to get done. School work is now down to Math with MDK and Math and Art with MLK.

Maybe have a decent size interpreting job coming up need to talk about it with Dave to decide if it is a good idea or not.

More later, trying to get supper on.

softball

Well last night MDK got to sub in and play a double header in the middle of the chaos I didnt get her sig, ned up for softball. She will maybe be called on to sub in for this team. We got her a new glove, she outgrew the other one. It is PINK and black. So MDK.

Went to the counselor yesterday for MLK, not sure if she is the right one or not, going to let Dave make that decision. Today we see the phsychtrist, I do like him.

Really hope to get in my garden soon. It is May now. Was able to plant the peonies and today I am planting some ferns.

Having alot of mixed feelings this week, and just exhausted. I just cant seem to get enough sleep. Well better go for now.

This is a blog to share with family and friends.A recording of our everyday happening, a modern day diary.
