back to the grind

Back to the work grind, had some time off for Christmas and really enjoyed seeing all the family and just hanging out.  I had a little bit of a cold but I am almost over with it now.  I am taking what is called hotspots when the weather is good and I had an answer to prayer with a maternity leave that I will be covering.  Missy has been off for a month and so will not like the situation where there is no paycheck this coming month.  However she seems to have gotten caught up on her rest.  Meg has gotten healthy since she got back from Guatemala and is back doing alot of hours at McDonalds.  She is now going to save up to replace her car as the transmission is so so.  Meg has till Jan 1 off from school and then back at it.  she has to do her college application this week!  She is going nowhere this weekend till it is done.  Missy has to get her tire fixed today it was flat and she was able to get her boyfriend to come and change it for her.  Dave is trying to get his regular route down in a few days and then will have another crazy week next day with holidays and people off again.  Well better get back to work.

she has landed in the US

Meg is on the way home.  I talked to her at Fort Worth airport she had just landed and was getting her luggage getting ready to go to the next place to board.  She sounded good, could only talk on my break.  She sounded wonderful and said she was healthy the whole time she was gone.  She said she had so many stories she didnt know where to start.  I am glad to hear she did so well and cant wait to get off work and see her!  One more night of work going to see the Hobbit with friend this Monday looking forward to that also.  Thats it for now, will blog more later.

a gunman in the building

Well very interesting day... the horrible tragedy in CT, is just awful.  However I was listening to it on the way down to work today.  I arrive at work about half hour early and I pull around the front of the building and there are three or four police cars I dont think alot about it, so I take an alterante route to the back where the parking lot.  I get out of the car, and two people are standing the parking lot and saying you cant get in the building there is a gun man in there.  I am freaking out...!  My supervisor calls me and makes me aware of the situation, I go and park in a parking lot away from the building and call Dave and Missy.  Missy has a whole bunch of friend over making cookies, I told them to stop everything and pray for my coworkers in the building and that I am safe and I will call back, tell Dave the same thing.  Call my fellow terp friend that I normally ride down with what is happening since she works here also.  About a half hour later I get the all clear call and then call family back and let them know what happened.  A man in the building was arrested, he never did have a gun but was threatening and acting wierd, the whole building went into lockdown.  It was unnerving to say the least.

Meg comes home tommorow will be so happy to see her and Missy is done with classes now.  She had a gaggle of her friends over plus her boyfriend and they all made cookies.  It is so nice to know that they in their early twenties arent out partying but instead have good morals and values and think getting together to make cookies is fun. When I left for work they were having a grand time!  Havent heard from Meg so cant wait to get all the details tommorow.  Work tommorow and Sunday then off again till tuesday and then the following friday and then off unless I want to catch a shift.  Also just got a good news got maternity leave at Meril so that will be nice money.  Well gotta go!

Christmas crafts and cleaning

I have decided you can do one or the other but not both!!!  I finished up some Christmas crafts and my house went south.  I cant keep things clean and do crafts.  I wanted to get some stuff done before my long work weekend.  Hoping I can get some more cleaning done.  However Missy and girl friends will be doing a cookie possible sleep over so the house will be right back where it was.  It truely is a never ending battle!

Christmas at our house

Well we have Christmas in full swing, we are starting down our list of Christmas movies that we watch, we have watched the Polar Express, the Grinch, and National Lampoons Christmas Vacation so far...still have more to go!  We are drinking our Orange Julius, the tree is up.  We have purchased the girls present and have just a few more things to go.  I have had a craft ornament day with friends and the Christmas music is out!  I found the old set of records at DAV that I grew up with that I am enjoying and also I am enjoying Josh Gorbin and John Denver, Maniheim Steamroller.  We have gone through Holiday Park and sang Christmas carols. 

I like this holiday if we can keep it on the even keel, I dont like seeing it overcomeralized and stressful.  I enjoy just sitting back and not making it over the top.  Most of all focus on the reason we have it in the first place-Jesus!

wisdom teeth

Dave has had a burger of time with these wisdom teeth coming out, he still feels awful!!  Wed. night was horrible with the constant puking and he seems only slightly better today.  It has been a long haul for him.  I hope he feels better soon.

I will start back to work this week, I got a chunk done that I wanted to but not everything got done that was planned.  I think that one always oversestimates what one can get done in an allotted time.
