without children

Well we have been without children for 24 hours, wow is it quiet without them, it has not been a music fest when I had to do stuff. Got alot of laundry done, Dave and I went and got MLK laundry done, and had a date night, just got to chit chat that was really nice.

I have AWANA and then Bible quizzing, then home then work again. I worked extra hours this week and am unsure where I can trim my hours this coming week. It ends up quite a balance when they have me work a bunch of hours and then want me not to go over hours.

Well Dave is grumping around will get off here and let him have the computer.

22 load of laundry on the floor, 22 loads of laundry take one down . . .

Today has been dedicated to can I please have a clean pair of underwear day. I started laundry at 7:30 AM and have gotten 6 or 7 loads done, I am hoping to continue this trend all weekend, I just hope that the washer and dryer can keep up with it. MLK did all the sorting, she was so far behind, but part of that comes from the chaos we will experience until I get home, doing all these different schedules is a real nightmare for about two months and then it should calm.

MLK is with L. her best friend they are doing a duet at her school in Osburn, it is a Miley Cirus song about friends. Her sister is with MDK and they will be going on the church hayride for the youth then they are all going to their house tonight. Hope they dont come home grumpy. MLK is caught up with all her work for school, however MDK is still behind, with flu and then brochinitis it got to be a mess. She has made progress but missed about six days of work, so she has gotten about two days worth done and four to go hopefully by the end of the week we will be almost back on track.

Dave and I are planning to catch a small date, maybe tonight we will see how the cookie crumbles. Well going to piddle on the internet while I wait for this next load to get dry.


Nervous and exicited about coming home, we just know that is the way God is leading our life right now. He has always provided the right things when HE leads so I am not too worried. I have been checking out books on cutting corners and making do, I know that if gas goes to $3-$4 a gallon, that will be a savings right there. Dave get reimbursed for every mile he drives from the driveway and back to the driveway so the gas and wear and tear is taken care of there. However my 100 miles three to four times a week ends up costing quite a bit. Also all the incidental for this retirement and bosses day and lunch and such will be reduced. I plan to interpret freelance but gas will be reimbursed from driveway to driveway there also.

turned it in

I turned in my resignation to my supervisor and it went well, however it is quiet for two weeks until she comes back and can take care of it since she will be gone. So I will still have to tell all my consumers and co workers at a later date.

Yesterday went with Dave after work to help out, and St. Joe took him forever, it was overfull since they try at the end of the month to keep the inventory high so he ends up trying to get a whole lot out and put in other machines but everywhere last night was too full. Hopefully he got some balance to the system so people can return their DVD.
MDK and I worked all last night to get some work caught up since she was out for about three days with brochintis this last week, I will be very glad when she is off predizone due to she acts like a ADHD kid on it. She has no focus with that stuff in her system. MLK and I are working together through her Science, she has a rather hard chapter on Cell structure and DNA. It is pretty techinical stuff, even I have a little trouble wrapping my brain around lysome, cytoplasimia and mydrochindia.

Today I plan to go get the girls haircut and do classes all day long, I thought last week was the last week for MLK self enrichment class but I was wrong. It is this week so another marathon day. One more month of special classes and then we will have Tuesdays to call our own again.

I feel like I am trying to come down with something myself which is no fun. I hope to beat it though so drinking water today!! well better get the troops up and going.

today

Today I turn in my resignation and launch out into new realms, a little exicting and a little scary all rolled up into one. I am hoping that all goes well at work, nothing big and hairy. Concerned also now that I will be leaving that my nasty co worker will unleash her fury. However I will not take it from her. A little worried and exicited on coming home. Definately more exicited, I have a big growing list of things I plan to acomplish when I get home. Such as repainting the basement at the church, getting all the members in a data base to be more efficent on getting out and visiting new members. Also looking forward to get household projects like painting the stairs done. Well I will try to blog tonight and let you all know how it went also thanks family for all the support!!!

how did that happen?

I sit on my couch with the labtop blogging staring at my house, trying to fiqure out after a weekend of cleaning, how can it look this bad?? I think I have the answer both girls were home all weekend. We are opposites of most families, weekends are when are kids go places and do things. Usually most weekends they are hither thither and yon. MLK did go to a friends b-day party but it was only for the afternoon on Friday. MDK has been refrained due to brochantis and is a little stir crazy.

Last night's meeting went really really well. I really feel God leading in all that is going to happen with our church and and our family.

Glad to hear Mom and Dad had a great time on their vacation.

WEll better ochestrate the next round of cleaning and get a short nap in .

deacons okay

Dave said the deacons are okay with the changes, first big hurdle done, then next hurdle is Saturday night then I will notify work on Monday. It will be nice to have it done, the inbetween can make one nutty.

Our CEO got us all Sam membership cards and then a big long letter about moving and changing our cheese, (motiviational book we were to read). It is about mice and the cheese gets moved and how to change with the situation. The mouse makes little signs about cheese, I made my own sign, life is more than cheese. This new CEO is the type that feels life is work, work is your life, and family is incidential. NOT impressed.


MDK sounds worse today, proably due to it breaking up, MLK has a birthday party this afternoon at 1. Another homeschooler, not an overnight however. We will be doing school today and tommorow, trying to make up for some sick days, we will see how MDK fairs.

brochintis

MDK has brochintis almost pnuemonia, it really never acted like that I thought she might have strep. Yesterday here lymph nodes got really swollen so I knew I needed to get her into the doctor. I let my boss know when I walked in the front door that I might have to leave early to take MDK to the doctor, then when I informed her that I was leaving a few hour early she informed me that I needed to be sure to be here when I have promised MERIL to be here. I have almost 65 hours of sick time, I only get 5 hours earned every month, that means I have not taken much. I cant help it that I was in the hospital and then my kids get sick and I got the flu. It is unlike her to say something like that, I suspect it is trickling down from above. So far not so impressed with the new CEO, he seems to be heading the workplace in a direction where he will lose alot of good workers. My favorite person was back and in a really bad mood.

PRAY PRAY for tonight, Dave talks to the deacons tonight about restructing and everything that will go on with that. PRAY that it goes well, the Lord has orechestrated so many neat things lately, just PRAY the deacons are open to His leading.

It had been pretty much decided between Dave and I that I will come home on December 31. I am looking forward to that. It will mean that debt is paid off, but not at a break neck pace, however we have gotten pretty far. I plan to do freelance which means feast or famine work, but will keep my skills up and will be good for our family. I will let work know after the church knows about changes. Dave will take on about 7-10 more hours with Redbox, and we will be able to get much cheaper insurance for all our family. I will do alot of church stuff and run the house teach the girls exclusively.

MDK watched educational videos yesterday due to being sick, today hopefully we can get her to sleep alot, however with Predizone running through her veins that will be a challange. MLK is looking forward to her birthday, and wants Aunt Brennie to know she wants Scrabble, she says she wont make her look for some Sci-fi thing. I need to look for her birth certificate and if I can't find it I need to order a new one. Permit test is coming right up, however I dont think she will pass due to the fact that she has barely studied. I tutor alot of deaf individuals on the test, it is harder than one thinks.

a quick lunch

Blogging while I do a quick early lunch. I have to go to KC today. Fun oh fun! Anyway , thought I would eat quick before leaving.

Yesterday was a full to overflowing day. The girls had friends over on Saturday night and they stayed up too late, and were total grumps Sunday afternoon, me too so that made for some fun!!!! Had a full day of church, bible quizzing and AWANA. All the kids are doing well with the Bible quizzing and Awana is starting to get back on track however we need some helpers.

Feeling not all with it right now, seem to be clicking rather slowly, if this persists I will need to go to the doctor, and see what is up, it has been like this off and on since I was in the hospital.

Well better get going!

once a month cooking

Yes I bought a cookbook it is a once a month cookbook, in an effort to save money and be more efficient, I am going to try this idea. I will let you know how it goes.

I worked at deaf club tonight it went well. I am home now, both girls have over company and I am watching Star Trek.

brain oozing out of ears

Very good tutoring session I had today, finished up my certification CEUs but was brain dead after that. Well I learned alot and it was nice to get that finished off.

Dave finished off his route, the volume of the machines have been a little nutty and making for a longer time, but it will be that way from time to time. The stuff at church has been doing well also.

MLK is at home with the boring parents, MDK is away at a birthday party.

Going to watch a short movie and then off to bed.

algebra and surface area

Last night, MLK and Dave were finishing up some much dreaded Algebra, her book has a geometry lesson thrown into it about every tenth lesson. Anyway last night was surface area, so we had a challange who could get the right answer first. It was a tie, I did the easy rectangles and triangles really fast but she got the cylinder and the odd shaped one. Makes you stretch your brain to do those type of problems again.

Watched a documentary called Declining by Degrees, it was excellent, discussing higher education and the almighty dollar, how many college freshman are not ready for college level so classes are dumbed down. Talked about grade inflation for retention and money money money. The workforce is suffering due to not ready employees.

Debating calling in sick this morning. Draining like crazy and sneezing out big snot balls. Could use some time at home to recoup before my body just poops out on me. I have to do eight hours of training tommorow.

yesterday

Yesterday was a beautiful fall today however quite warm. The interpreter phone ran off the hook yesterday. It was nutty busy with a consumer having a hospital emergency.

Dave is having a meeting and looking at switching some stuff around at church. He is also looking at going full time with Redbox, and having me come home and just do freelance. There are some advantages and disadvantages this. Insurance is one of the main issues right now we pay about 580 a month for insurance and really lousy insurance at that. Through redbox that would be around 320 for the whole family. Just be in a lot of pray, this would mean changes all around for everyone. I think this would be okay, but uncertain what the church would think of it, or if Dave can do it. If I came home I would do alot of stuff for the church for Dave. Need lots of prayers about this.

MLK disected a worm yesterday will post some pics later, she almost upchucked but then she was okay and continued. MDK made this awesome fruit salad it was sooo good. They are both enjoying their classes and it is a nice break from the same ole same ole. MLK has one more class of writing at the college. She says she has enjoyed it. It has been good experience for her to prep her for furthur education.

bible quizzing

Yesterday I had to work at Celebration Day, in fact everyone had to work it was mandatory and our new fearless leader showed up an hour late, not good PR with your new staff. Oh well, left at noon and went to Bible quizzing with the girls. Wow they both did so well. Our experienced one MLK quizzed out perfect score four out of five times. Our rookie MDK quizzed out once, almost unheard of for a rookie to quiz out on their first time. Double wow. Our team hit mid to low mid range which is not bad for two rookie teams. Then the whole group went to CiCi pizza and pigged out. Dave had a lot of church work to do so I was suprised when I saw him at Bible quizzing, but he said he started to do his sermon, and then the bus arrived and he looked at his girls and he said I need to go be a Daddy today. What a sweetie. Esp. after the week he had, everything that could go wrong with his Redbox route seemed to. I think that will be the way of it. You will have alot of good weeks and then a rough one here and there.

I worked on putting grades in last night will finish that up today. Get the planner ready for this week.

We had a nice time in Jamesport this last Friday, we were all stressed and cranky Friday so that afternoon I said lets go somewhere so we took off for Jamesport. It was nice.

Well better get started on the Sunday morning routine pretty soon.

the never ending day

Got stuck at work yesterday turned in the rental van and waited for Dave and waited and waited, his machines were full so had to thin by hand which is a horribly long process so Denise gave me a ride home. Bless her soul.

MDK has been not feeling well at all, she slept and slept and slept hopefully she feels better today.

I have to go in for a mandatory staff meeting and then mandatory junk tommorow too. Ugh!!!!

Anyway better get around.

so doggone tired

I cant seem to fiqure out why I am so doggone tired, I think I have a virus of some sort. I was achy in my joints at the first of the week, but now I cant get enough sleep.

Came home last night took an hour nap, then woke up trying to fiqure out what day it was.

Well must go make the doughnuts.

nice day yesterday

It rained cats and dogs yesterday and then the sun came out and it was a beautiful day. The girls were inside doing enrichment classes and I sat outside cleaning out my car. It was so nice.

MLK writing teacher at the college will be good for her, it will challenge her. I am excitied about that. She is disceting a worm next week for her Biology lab class, she says oh gross. She is also doing her choir and magna comic art. She has had insomina but I think I cured her by driving her hard through yesterday. She went to bed around 9:30.

MDK class on manners did not hold but was able to put her in intro to theater, were she learned, stage directions yesterday. She did a cooking class, and also her quilting class. Her and I went to the DAV store and got some new clothes for her. She has grown alot lately. Also picked up some new polo shirts for Dave.

Dave did a partial route yesterday and then a associational meeting, got home around 10 then he went to bed around 11 but then the dog woke him up and he couldnt go back to sleep for a little while. Since my hospital stay whenever I go to bed, I hear nothing! The dog use to get me up occasionally but I dont hear her now. It is strange.

I am feeling a tad sick to my stomach this morning, but going to work, hopefully I dont get to filling worse.

Dave got paid from Redbox for the first check, so that was real good, it was getting a little uncomfortable. It was almost a month before the first full check and all the gas money up front made it tight, still a little tight but much better.

Fall feels like it has arrived, need to get out and take the girls picture. Well better get around.

evan almighty

We did all of st. joe route last night what a mess it was, everything was full, everything was busy and everything took forever.

Came home late and undwound by watching Evan Almighty, it was pretty good, esp. the part when Evan and God have conversations, I liked the part where Evan tells God all about his plans, and God laughs hysterically. It struck a chord, that God always has a plan, despite our own plan. That our plans proably do make God chuckle.

The girls are grumpy this morning, MLK had a touch of insomina, so it should be a fun day, not! The best way to cure her insomina is to drive her hard the next day, or she ends up having two or three days of it. It drives me nuts when Dave is being an insominac but more so with MLK.

Well better get everything moving forward.

just a chillin

Well I am waiting here at work piddling around on my computer due that I am off the clock, waiting for Dave and girls, they are doing the route, and I thought I would help out and do a late night with Dave. I have just been reading other peoples random blog and watching the sunset.

We will be trying to get alot of kiosks done tonight to be able to free up Dave's week. I have had a terrible time getting the other insurance to call us back, (someone door dinged the rental van bad) so turning in a claim and cant get anyone to call me back, will escalate up the scale tommorow to get somewhere.

The girls and I will have a long day with enrichment classes and MLK class at the college, but well worth it, I still have to get MDK grades in for the last few weeks and then do a report card in a few weeks for their portofolio, I am going to simplfy what I keep so it doesnt look like a dang dictionary, something that is more streamlined, I am only required to keep a portfolio or have them tested, not both, but I do both. MDK read a Bible passage from Psalms yesterday in front of the whole congreation. She did awesome, was so proud of her. MLK sang a special, it was our singspartion Sunday. It was well done, and a blessing to all that were there, many specials and such a variety.

Been trying to not get so uptight with school and schedules, and you know it is working, they are getting better about getting things done, now there is room to go espically with my natural born procastionator, but it has taken done everyone stress level for me to be a little more flexible. We have deadlines, and due dates and such, but I also try to realize that this is part of life, that school and life flow together, and that to make these two bond, will help all involved, we may do school here or there, or in a box or with a fox, or on a train or in the rain. (opps my Dr. Suess took over)

MLK will start redecorating her room this month, she is 15 and that is part of it. She has picked out colors and thoughts abound, she will need to settle into what she thinks would be best. (with our approval) It should be interesting since she will be doing 80-90 percent of it herself. Pictures will be coming.

wow where has the time gone

It is already Oct 1 and in 29 days my daughter turns 15. This year is 3/4 gone it all keeps speeding by so fast. I enjoyed having last week off, but now I have to go back to work.

I long for the days when one income covered everything, a Mom never feels like she does anything well. If her job is good, then she feels like stuff at home isnt, or vice versa. Constant struggle for anyone that works.

The girls had friends over yesterday afternoon after church and the giggles were rampant. MDK and her friend only know how to giggle.. Both of my girls are developing good friendships and not destructive ones. It seems like MLK has fewer but deeper friendships. MDK has more friends but at not as deep of level, maybe due to her age also. They are so different. MDK has two really best buds, and one good friend. MDK has a gaggle of friends, but no true bosom buddy.

Dave is doing alot of thinking about our church body, wondering why they are becoming a tad complaincent. He says we need to continue forward, which I agree, however I think that they are doing well, but he says they are becoming nitpicky. We will see what he says when he comes out of his cave (thinking spot).

I am unsure about work it seems to be a constant roller coaster ride right now, it is making me a little dizzy ( wheres the dramnine? :) I just dont like all the drama drama drama.

Well must go make the doughnuts (remember the old Dunkin Doughnuts commerical anyone?)
