holding on

Dave has been at his job for a while and we knew when we started that it would be a while for the first full check, so hold our breath and it should show up in the next few days. The gas money for the job is about 80 to 100 a week, so the first investment is making things tight when the check which should show up this weekend or early next the room to breath will be so much nicer.

We have been able to move forward on all our bills, it will be slow and steady but we will get there. It can be a long slow process. I cant imagine people that end up in the hospital for months. Insurance is lousy anymore, the deductable high, the caps high and the premiums high. We spend right now around 530 a month in insurance premiums. Then we have all the medical debt besides. Something is wrong with that picture. Makes you wonder if putting it in a saving account would be better?? I know that would not work, but you hate to see so much money go to what if.

MLK and I got a handle on what her and Dad did on the week I was gone to Iowa. She did pretty good, Art and Bible doctrines, she didnt get done. However she got most everything done, she is two weeks ahead on her biology so I will have her hold off there and work on Art to get it back to snuff. She has been doing a lot of Magna Art for her class but needs to get back to the Art in her book.

Both girls are going to Worlds of Fun today, hope they have a great time. Dave and I are going to celebrate Denise birthday with her.

Well maybe sneak back under the covers and sleep a little more.

hes home and okay

Luka came home yesterday. It was good and a suprise that he came home yesterday. MDK and I are trying to help out with the kids and stuff around the house, hopefully that works out. Brenda wants some normality around here so if we are upsetting the balance we will go on home. It is and has been a wait and see kinda of week.

MDK is really struggling with writing, I truely see some of the same problems we had with reading, so we will take it slow and steady, and that should win the race. She has a wide range of vocabulary that she uses when she writes, her spelling is much better. However just like reading used to be, she skips writing words, and then just fills in. Just part of the cards she was dealt in life, but I think she will do just fine with some time and patience. Now math we are skipping some of these easy lessons due to it is not enough of a challange for her.

MLK told me yesterday that she is growing algae for her snail she has from the Biology enrichment class, I am not so keen on the idea but it does sound fun.

Our van is getting fixed, hope we dont get screwed with it.

subsitute

I am blogging from my sisters house, playing substitute caretaker for the next few days, Luka my newest nephew will be in the Des Moines Hospital for awhile, but is progressing nicely. He was off oxygen today and could eat, got rid of the tube in his nose. Maybe will come home on Wednesday. Subbing in for small ones, how soon you forget, but my daughter MDK is a wonderful domestic godess and is doing so well helping out.

Dave is manning the home front with revival services and Sagers staying with us, MLK is being the hostess there, dont know how well that is going. Hope everything is doing well. Both my girls can really hold there own with domestic duties. They are growing up fast.

Luka entered the world yesterday. He is such a sweetie, my new nephew. He is huge at 9 lbs and 11 oz. Please pray for him and his folks, he has an infection. More later.

a little bit emotional

I am a little bit emotional today, since my icident and off to the hospital, I have noticed a change and so has Dave, today it came to a head and Dave and I have been able to sit and talk out alot of stuff.

Work is changing alot things are topsy turvy, church has grown, and we just needed to reassess what we will do if this happen and if that happens so that was very helpful. I am very unsure if i like the new CEO. Trying not to make a judgement call without some more input.

Getting ready for Danny and Dorothy and family,looking forward to this and also looking forward to seeing billy bob (my name for the new baby).

This sounds really spordatic and messed up so I will quit while I am ahead.

ahh peace and quiet

I sit in peace and quiet at the house just chilling out. Got a t shirt and shorts on typing away. This is the life. Called and caught up with everyone on the phone. The school work went good according to Dad. House not good but not horrible, satisfactory. MLK on phone with friend, MDK out playing with friend, Dave out on visitation. Me sitting back, finished folding laundry, feeling finally caught up for a moment. I need to put in hours and grades on computer but thinking that Friday I will do this weeks and last. I tend to put in all hours and grades at the end of each week, however last week was a little off so will enter two (kinda) weeks worth. They seems to be in swing. MLK had first class with writing at MWSU it is an self enrichment class, so no credits but good for her. She will learn to take notes and some self discpline to get her course done, good life prep besides also doing something she enjoys.

Work was good felt like I got alot of stuff accomplished today, and tommorow might be a light day also.

Looking forward to new baby coming, we were listing to each other what our favorite smells were in the van, baking bread was high and so was new baby smell. Fresh rain, and sheets off the line also ranked. Worst smells were MDK toots!

Well better get something started for supper.

on the road again

We are off this morning to do some kioskos and school in the rental van, then enrichment classes and MLK goes to writing class at the college. (adult enrichment class)

MLK is exicited about the writing class but nervous (me too) but the challange will be good for her. It has always been a race in the area of Language Arts to keep her challanged but I think she is getting there. I think after she gets her drivers liscence I will have her do an actual college class in that area, maybe online or on campus.

MDK is doing very well with reading, excellent in Math, better in spelling, and avoids writing like a plague. So that is the area we focus on this year. She is growing and changing really fast, overwashed in a hormonal bath of ick.

Felix our cat we have nicknamed him Diablo, as in demon kitty he is so bad!!! He will soon be minus some of his manly parts and I hope that he will then be nicer.

The weather is starting to cool. so nice and soon the leaves will turn, just not ready for the winter.

do i have to go?

Somedays you wake up and say do I have to go to work?? There is an overwhelming amount of stuff to do here at the house. But must be faithful to work also.

The school work has been all caught up and fiqured out since the mix up last week with crashing vans and hospital stays. The laundry is on its way, now the shape of the house is next. I also have a doctors appt this evening. Can't wait, not!

Disappointment yesterday, one of our people that we have had in a place of leadership just up and left and took a position at First Christian didnt tell Dave or Bob just half the congreation and had a list of people that he was recruiting to get to go with him. He had desired to be our youth leader and we already have one. This church he went to is Discples of Christ which is trending very liberal now. Our church people were very mature, and very good, when they talked to him at the country fair over the weekend they said we will miss you but will be going to our church. Alot of newbie Christians he was after that showed great maturity, did Daves heart good. Pray for Dave as this was a young man that he had mentored for over two years, this one stings a little. I think this young man desired what he could not have, the youth pastor, he sees the glory but has no idea of all the hard work, and I do mean no idea.

Well need to get around for work.

a week wasted???

Well I killed the lawnmower again, it wont start for me, I mowed and then it died in the middle of it. Everyone here is catching up on some much needed sleep. What a week.

Yesterday the principal (David) called it a week. Said you cant expect to do mircles Chris, so we got about a half weeks work in and called it good. They are ahead on hours due to school on Labor Day and some stuff we did on weekends. So I quess this is what you call a natural breather. Plan to watch the Viking movies over the weekend also. Movies seem to cement things for MDK, makes the connection to what she is reading.

Our van got to a body shop and we got a rental, it will be a 50 50 chance that they will total it. If they do we will just go with the two paid off vehicles till they die and then get back into a payment at a later date. In case you didnt know our van got smushed by a big Ford truck.

Dave finsished his route last night, which was good. He was worried that it was never going to get done due to hospitals and crushed vehicles. Finishing off church stuff today.

Also need to whip this house into shape before Sager's show up. Hope and pray we will be able to do some of that today. It isnt horrid but it isnt clean either.

Well gonna sleep back under the covers till Dave wakes up and then see what we can do with the mower.

Well not a stellar week, someone tatooed our van, it is in Carollington dead, a truck backed into it and mushed it all to pieces, wow it is a mess. So went and got Dave late and then called into work it was just not my week. Well better get around today.

PS no one hurt in the van or huge truck that mushed him.

back

okay I came home from the hospital on Tuesday at noon. One word of advice never end up at the hospital on the weekend. It was a long haul lots of test, no real diasgnosis (which bothers Dave) but I have a good heart clean viens no blood in my spine which means no ansuriesm. So they are left with funky headache. Oh well, I was pooped yesterday and cut my workday short came home around 3 went to bed at 4 and woke up at 8:30. Went back to bed around 11:30.I go to see my regular doctor on Friday as a follow up. Taking it pretty easy around here and the house does show that is what I am doing. Work today and working tommorow till doctors apt.

The new boss whether I like or not is still out for me. Unsure what he plans to do, anyway I better get around and get on the road.

got some of it done

Got school done, but not the house so tommorow we will be doing the house and then off to Deaf Club . Meet the new CEO not sure if I like him or not, alot of stuff he has to do. I think he is a run of the mill big guy. Leaving judgements out for a while and see what will happen.

It seems like I conquer one area of life and the other areas get messed up. Well all for now. Watching a Morgan Freeman movie.

from no work to too much

Monster day at work yesterday, wow, had an emergency with one of our consumers, and it just got crazy. Today will be another long day, I will end up going with one of the interpreters to KC to do some advocating.

Advocating is something I do alot and I am a strong advocate for the deaf, it is stupid in this day and age some of the junk I have to straighten up Wow! Came home last night went to prayer meeting and then plopped down and watched a movie and straight off to bed. It was a long day. Tommorow I will be finishing off the week with the girls and then have to go to Sign Language mentoring to get some CEUS and then Sat night I have deaf club.

The girls seems to really be getting into the swing of things now and doing well, havent quite got back on their chore schedule but that will come soon. I need to go back to the doctor to see whats up with my hormones, I have not had a cycle since May, I am not pregant and not in menopause according to the doctor so that is a big question mark to me, also will get my thyroid med tweaked.

Dave is still doing good on his new meds, he is adjusting to this Redbox job which seems to be working out for all of us.

Our church is doing well, a few people have not been keeping up with their pledges for the building so pray that it happens. The overall spirit is good. It was neat at our prayer meeting last night we had three teens there, three people well over sixty and three people that are mid age that would include me. We all sat around and chatted like old friends talked about everything under the sun, no age problems just good friendship. It was really really cool, a unique thing about our church.

Saw my new boss in the hallway today, we said hi that was it. Hopefully the whole transition goes smooth at work. Well better get around for work.

mammoth monday

Wow we had a huge Monday-accompained Dave on his redbox route. The girls did today and yesterday's work while on the road for 12 hours. Today is the first day of enrichment classes. MLK has Biology Lab, Choir, and Magna Comic Art. MDK classes are all eight week so she will start in a month.

Tommorow I go back to work with a new CEO and fall out from one of the directors getting fired. It should be alot of drama. We will wait and see.

The weather is too cool off soon and start turning to fall. I am glad 90's and 100's are not my best idea of a good tempature.

Brenda should have a new baby soon. She always keeps the name secret till it is born, so I think I will nickname the new baby Billy Bob till he comes.

Well better fiqure out this morning before we leave for enrichment classes.

waking up in the middle of the night

Hey all!! It is in the dead of the night. Woke up hot hot hot. So got up and doing some blogging and piddling on the internet. Church went well yesterday , we are getting a start on all the fall stuff next week. I am helping with the Bible quizzing. The girls have school today, because I know when revival and Brenda's baby comes we will be taking a few days off or having partial schedule. The girls arent keen on doing school on days other kids have off. Too bad, so sad.

We watched Lord of the Flies last night, it is a good but rather disturbing movie. It is about primal human nature and a bunch of stranded boys. Good luck into our sin nature, and the basiness of humanity.

Will keep this short due to the many trips to the bathroom, hope to blog again tonight.
