criminal minds

Dave and I are stuck on a new series which totally is fascinating to me.  Criminal minds is all about the mind of the criminal who done it fbi show.  I have always been morbidly fascinated with the criminal mind and what exactly their rationale and thinking processes are for the horrible things they commit.  We all have that basic sin nature, we are not naturally good people, the heart is decietfully wicked who can know it says the book of James in the New Testament.  However there are triggers and patterns with serial killers and this horrific people that do these horrific things.  I have read books about most well known serial killers and Dave thinks this quirk of mine is just weird.  I quess he must be right.

I slept in today as I knew it would be a late night for me and I am going to get around so I can go into the library early and gets some more books on tape, they keep me company on the long haul down to KC.  I enjoy that part of the trip listening to the book on CD makes the journey a little less long! 

The house is pretty clean still need to iron the quilt and get it dropped off but I hate ironing so I keep putting it off.  Well better get around before it is time to get to work.

back to the grind

Well we are now in full swing, MLK went back to classes yesterday.  She quickly dropped her Math class and added Oral Comm. class.  She said that math teacher might as well be speaking French.  Poor girl Math is her nemesis.  She is loving her English classes and seems to be headed in a direction she is enjoying more.  She works Mon and Friday and classes Thursday and Tuesday.  She is planning on going to a mud volleyball activity tonight at the BSU. 

Meg started back to enrichment classes, she is doing creative journaling, personal finance class, chess and choir so she is a busy girl on Tuesday.  Plus Chemistry at home and studying for the ACT test again.  Plus her two jobs she is a busy woman also. 

I am headed back to work this morning and work today thru Saturday.  Dave is back in the swing of work and is teaching the Personal Finanace class and I am teaching Photography and Sign Language. 

Well better hit the showers so I dont stink at work.

a nice break

Well Dave and I are back from our cabin... the water main broke and after two days of stinking we decided to come home!  We did enjoy our time their, beautiful scenery, really nice trails.  I found this walking stick on the sandbar, it looks like something someone might have carved but it is all natural, and it is pitted by sand.  It was wonderful to have along as my knee still is a little tricky.  Knee is pretty much healed just gets sore and I think that will go away in another month.  We had very hilly trails but very cool trails that we went on.  We are amazed at all the structures that the CCP did in the 20s and 30s, beautiful workmanship on rock bridges, gazebo, etc.  I am not much for public programs, but a program like that again would be a wonderful thing to invest in for our future generations.  So yesterday, we went to town, MLK got her books for college which starts next week, and MDK had a counseling session.  MDK is talking to the biblical counselor at our church, she is working through some stuff from when MLK tried to hurt herself.  I think that MLK has healed enough that MDK feels safe to work through the emotions about that.  Alot of people dont like counseling, and want to fix it themselves or ignore the issue.  I think we have as a family have a different outlook.  Maybe it comes from years of ministry of people getting biblical counseling and advice from their pastor I dont know.  I think counseling is a great thing as you get a total outside perspective from someone else. Anyway we went out to eat and got groceries.

I got my quilt done, just need to sew up a back and then take it to the quilters.  It is the last one and then everyone in the family has at least one quilt from me.  I am making David a throw quilt next, he picked out the materials and everything and I have a new pattern to work on.  I like the pattern I just did extremely easy to do and it looks really neat when it is done!  Well today is clean the house day and I hope watch it rain day!!!!!!  Come on rain, big fat raindrops please.

one more day

Well one more day of work and then I am off for vacation.  I am looking forward to an uninteruppeted week for just me and hubby to enjoy each other's company and for Dave to get rested up.  I am in hopes that this fall he will find an MS specialist and look into what meds they might have to make his life a little easier.  I am taking my sewing machine and working on my quilting, taking my camera, tennis shoes and a book.  We will leave tommorow morning. 

Missy got her car liscensed yesterday, and will get her books next week.  Meg has started her school subjects and is officially working two part time jobs.  She only has two credits that she needs to finish, we crammd most of her credits into her first three years and she took Spanish this summer.  She plans to work hard and play hard this year.  Love her senior pics, they turned out well.  Well better think about packing.

three more days of work and then vacation

Well three days at Sorenson and then off to vacation.... way looking forward to that!!!!  Dave is about worn slick and really needs the break.  Spent yesterday and Monday doing odds and ends stuff.  I got my house fairly clean and even did some of the extras.  Pulled off all the bedding and got it clean and took my big denim bedcover into town and washed it in the triple loader so it is clean.  We went to DAV and I found the Christmas records that has Christmas in Kilernay on it, the ones I grew up with!!  Had to get new work pants for MDK as she starts back at McDonalds this week.  Also got some VCR tapes for Alana, the Disney classics for like one dollar a piece. Got a book to read on vacation also.  Went to walmart and came home.  MDK has started her school subjects and is getting into the swing of  things.  \

My lawn looks gross, but since it is dead and weeds feel a little unable to do much about it.  Well better get off here and get around.

a beautiful day with the hubby

Yesterday was a beautiful day with my hubby!  It was just one of those days when you both fall into the same footsteps and you are on the same page and you are just in the moment with each other.  We went to town for a short stint and then went and played with baby Alana, came home and just sat, talked and watched TV together.  It was sweet however, just living in the moment with each other.

our anniversary

Today is Dave and I's 22nd anniversary wow it doesnt seem that long.  I have sure enjoyed the years and look forward to many more.  We were going to do something today but with Dave fighting the flu all week we are going to stay very low key.  We are going out and taking pictures and take a ride and then we are going to a meat sale to stock up on meat.  Woo hoo right.  I told him he has to fill in and preach tommorow and has felt awful all week so he needs to take it easy. Well better get around and clean the house.

testing today

Well up way early due to going to Kansas to take my test today. A tad nervous this morning but will be glad to have this behind me. I am hoping that I can knock it out and be done with this test.  I really do hate these tests with a passion.  Yesterday I laid down for a short nap and three hours later I woke up.  I quess I needed it.  Well better get around.
