blessed by Your name

This has been my song for this transition in my life right now.  Here are the lyrics.
Blessed be Your name
in the land that is plentiful
Where your streams of abundance flow
blessed be Your name

and blessed be Your name
when I'm found in the desert place
though i walk through the wilderness
blessed be Your name

every blesssing You pour out I'll turn back to praise
an when the darkness closes in Lord still i will say:
blessed be the name of the Lord
blessed be Your name
bleseed be the name of the Lord
blessed be Your glorious name

and blessed be your name
when the sun's shining down on me
when the world's "all as it should be"
blessed be your name

and blessed be your name
on the road marked with suffering
though there's pain in the offering
blessed be your name

every blesssing you pour out i'll turn back to praise
when the darkness closes in Lord still i will say:
blessed be the name of the Lord
blessed be your name
bleseed be the name of the Lord
blessed be your glorious name

you give and take away
you give and take away
my heart wil chose to say:
blessed be your name (blessed be your name lord)

It sums up how I feel right now.  We have been blessed with a great place to life.  Dave's health is declining.  My daughters are doing great.  Money is tight.  etc.  I must realize that God is in it all, I esp. enjoy the part in the song where it says I choose to praise.  That must be my heart attiude.  All for now.

a long weekend

It was a nice break for me and the girls to go for a long weekend. We swang in and saw Mom and Dad and that was nice.  We then went to Ottumwa and saw the Sagers.  Dan was not with them.  It was us Mom's and all the kids.  My girls had so much fun!!!!!   I wish we all lived closer.  Dorothy and I so relate as being pastor's wives and the worries we have for our husband.  I know right now I am not a pastor wive but I had 18 years of experience, it has been a shell shock for them as ministering in the US is so different than Russia.  In Russia people come and participate and are hungry to learn.  In US people dont participate like they should and they have a tendency to make it about themselves.  Dave calls it the wiping noses and powdering butts syndrome.  It wears a person out.

Dave this weekend, had a really bad time with his health.  His whole left side was somewhat numb, his vision was blurry and his tongue numb, and his hearing in his left ear was coming and going.  We hope it is a temporary thing.  Please pray for him.

Well better get around.

a job, a swim, a lunch date, mowing, a nap, a rainstorm, a clean van, and home again

Well as you can see this was my day, in one sentence.  I rather enjoyed today, a nice mix of work, chores and some downtime.  At forty I have really arived at a life that is for the most pretty satisfying.

Yesterday we got MLK signed up for her english 104 class we should have confirmation on it next week she will start August 30.  I am starting to gear up to get things in order for classes for them.  I am seriously thinking we will not start till after labor day fully.  I think we will do one or two subject start in August and then everything at the beginning of Sept.

Hoping to get out and about with my camera more I need to do this.  I am getting 3 to 4 times in on swimming a 1/4 mile each time.  So am doing about a mile a week.  Swimming makes everything right with the world.  I can be anxious, eight laps later, I am good again.

Well better get around to getting the rest of my chores (maybe) done.

what a rip

Well now that I have calmed down alot, I feel like I can blog about the nasty women that MLK worked for.  She was a real piece of work, she let MLK go over a voicemail. I have never meet anyone quite so unprofessional, and inquiring into this situation more.  I found out that MLK only had three hours working directly with this woman and that was her "training".   Dave and I were so hot, and it is proably best I not blog about it too much, because I will just get ticked again.

Yesterday, Dave has proably had the worst time of it since we moved, this happens and I try to accept it but it is difficult.  It is usually his legs that give him a really rough time.  After church he sat in his chair most all day and I hope he does the same today.

I took a two hour nap and then MLK and I went for a two hour swim.  That was nice.  MDK went back with Viv to Iowa and then was going out to Brenda to babysit.

Tommorow we go to MWSU to get MLK signed up for her English 104 class she decided agaisnt the Art class because the only had the 3 hours in the evening class left, she said that she would do that next semster.

Well better get around.

a hot day

Today is suppose to be a scorcher, Dave worked some extra hour yesterday to avoid being in the hot sun all day.  I have only one job today, yeah.  Hope to work on the house some.  MDK wasnt feeling good yesterday so I am wondering how and if she will be coming home today or tommorow.

I was going to go to a quilting thing at church yesterday, but my tire went flat, had to get it fixed (actually replaced, a hole in the sidewall).  Got the oil changed too.

This afternoon going to the doctor so she can straighten out my hip.  Got a new weed eater I can acutally use, it is rechargeable electric wow I can just vroom and off I go and I am not tempted to throw it across the whole yard.

Well better get around.

a productive weekend

Well all in all we had a productive weekend.  MLK worked most all weekend, MDK got her roses done after many attempts and Mom's help.  Dave got his speakers all put together.  We got closets cleaned out, house mostly clean.  Not a bad weekend.

Today starts a flurry of interpreting jobs!  I am gone all day interpeting, will swim between some of my jobs.  Church was good yesterday, the sermon series is on Esther.  I also enjoyed the song in Christ alone, such powerful words.  After church we went to JcPenny and got some really great bargins for the girls.

Well better get around for now.

early morning rainstorm

Well, I couldnt sleep I dont know what is up with me, other than my hip seems to be out of place, I will set up to go to the Doctor since she is a D.O. she does adjustments, ever since I last hurt my ankle I have a slightly off gait, which then after time 4-6 months my one leg works up and out of the joint some which gives me pain in the hip joint lower back and upper thigh, after she adjusts it it feels so much better.  I suspect all the moving didnt help.

I went on Friday and got a swimming pass back at the Y just for myself this time that way I can get to exercising again.  So I started off with eight laps, ugh I was worn out but it also felt good to be back in the water.  I just love to swim and it is so good for me.

We cleaned out closets yesterday, the last remaining things to get set up we were going to do some outdoor things, will have to wait to see if it clears up.  MDK got started on the roses for the cake for next week.  We got the house mainly clean.  It was sssooooo nice to not have  schedule of something that had to be done.  It has been crazy since we moved we hadnt had a weekend that was without anything, so this weekend has been greattttttly appreciated.

MLK looks like she will be settling into 25-30 hours a week so that should be about perfect with her schedule of school and such.  I am starting to think and plan for school.  Also working on the class plans for my two enrichment classes.

Watched Born into Brothels, such a moving documentary, a photographer is teaching photography to children of brothel workers, and the struggle to get them out of the red light district, it was a truely amazing movie.  I have been watching the instant online movies from Netflix.  It is a nice treat, and I am a sucker for a good documentary.  I have always felt that watching them also helps me be a better interpreter learning new things all the time.  I am currently doing a job interpreting where it is a breaking the addiction type of class so I am listening on CD a story called Beautiful Boy, about a father and his son's addiction to meth and rehab.  It is giving me some background info that will be helpful since I know next to nothing about these things.

Well better get around for church

well this last week

Okay so I havent blogged in a while trying to catch a new norm now for myself.  I need to fiqure out what is mynew routine here.  I love our new house.  It needs a good cleaning today so that is one of my main focuses today.

MLK tried again and did not pass her drivers test.  She totally freaks out with the test taker in the car.  Well I am now letting her suffer some natural consquences.  She has not made a whole lot of effort to drive with her Dad, doesnt ask doesnt like to practice, etc.  Has no motivation because I drive her everywhere. Dave also does not have alot of motivation to make her practice, why because I drive her everywhere.  Well now I am making MLK walk to work so she will get majorly ticked off enough to conquer this test.  She is this type of kid, she has to get ticked off on certain things to get past them.

MDK is starting to make roses for the wedding cake next weekend.  Daves Mom and stepdad are doing a wedding renewal cermony.  She spent the night with her good friend and had a blast.  She has learned alot from earning money this summer also.

I have done a thousand interpreting jobs this last week, I have meet myself coming and going.  Today I hope to get the house clean and work on some of my projects and get my enrichment classes started.

Well better go for now.

Dave is offically 40

Dave turned 40 yesterday and God gave him the most beautiful rainbow, it was proably the most brillant one I have ever seen, we got pictures of it on our phones but not sure how to load that onto the computer.  It formed mostly over our heads, it felt like it was almost 3D.  It was a double rainbow, it was goregous!

Today starts a long string of jobs, which will be good to help replenish our stash, moving is expensive.  MLK has been working alot, she works today and then has three days off, I dont know if she knows what to do with that many days off at once.

Well better get the day started.

yahoo it is done

Well it was an all out family conquer the world day.  We got it done, the house at Fairport is offically out of our hair now!!  So exicited to have that finished!!!!  Dave turned in church and house keys so we can mark that off the list.

MLK got her first paycheck, she had 35 hours and over 200 dollar paycheck.  That was very exiciting for her, she works the next three days straight and then I think she has three days off.  I think they like her.  MLK has her car and windshield paid off.

MDK has two hundred left to go on her vehicle.  Then she will be done with it.  She will be glad to not have that hanging over her head.  Dave has been using it some since it has AC and little blue doesnt.

Dave is done with his route for now, hopefully no call outs but a few people on vacation so it could happen.  We plan to clean up around here tommorow.  The girls are going to a movie tonight.

I got a bunch of the denim cut out for my quilt, proably will need a lot more but it is a good start also working on dishclothes.  I need to clean the catch all closet.

Well better go for now.

my projects

Well I have finally gotten to a point where I can do some of my projects.  Yesterday afternoon and evening I cut out denim squares, it is a good start but I need some more fabric, hopefully I will find old jeans from friends.  It takes quite a few to make a queen size.  This will be my first raggy quilt so we will see if I like it or not.  Worth a try.  I have also been crocheting dishclothes.

I need to clean out my closet and we are hoping to finish the Fairport house this weekend.  Dave turns 40 next Monday, getting him the west wing dvd series.  One of his favorites.  Well better get around going grocery shopping at Hyvee as they have a great sale going on.

This is a blog to share with family and friends.A recording of our everyday happening, a modern day diary.
