curls, boys and such

Well today was not at all what I planned, it was a little bit of the written list, MLK had a boy she has been crushing on for some time. Nothing serious, she let him know how she felt and he said "I just want to be friends", she was crushed. She has been full of self doubt and wallowing in self pity the last few days, so today we do what all girls do when faced with such dilema, shop and get our hair done! :). Actually she got her hair done, it is a curly wedge cut (yes a perm), it looks sooo good on her and all she will have to do is wash and scrunge with mouse and ta da it is done, then we got a new short shirt outfit and earrings to match for 18 dollars on clearance. She looked soo good, and felt a whole lot better about life in general. However the verdict is still out till she sees what the friends say. (agh I hate this stage).

I mowed the lawn before we went in town, now I am piddling on the computer because it is too darn hot to mess with cleaning for awhile. The AC in the blue car fan belt for it broke so that is hot, our AC in the house has a tendency to freeze over so we have to turn it off every third day. UGH! I wanted this heat in Jan, I must remember that, when I helped do kiosk with Dave in -4 I wanted heat.

We are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel with the debt snowball in place, it is building momentum. The light is not a train thank the Lord.

The dentist visit made me ill couldnt work, went to bed and slept off whatever was in the shots to numb me, four hours later I came too. I am just not good with the dentist but I am done. Yeah, next up MDK. Then MLK, then off for orthodonist for MDK.

MLK is at a youth event and then pool party, and one more night of youth event. MDK is at Gma Viv.

Dog got a haircut

Got signed up for enrichment classes yesterday that was so fun, the girls bowled I caught up with people. I enjoy the other mother, there I am just Chris, not a pastor's wife. I helped Dave last night and then we watched Vantage Point, a really interesting movie, it has alot of blow them up but the way the plot goes is really really good.

The dog looks so cute with her new hairdo, she is such a spoiled rotten thing. Today I get my teeth done (ick) then prison interpreting and then drop off MDK and Dave will redbox tonight.

My house has been staying cleaner, hope life slows down one more notch and then I thing it will maybe mostly get done. I know summer is close to an end, so I quess we all just kinda still have that mentatilty which is good. Well better go get shower and brush teeth for the dentist.

alone

The girls are with friends, but I pick them up this morning and go sign up for enrichment classes and they will bowl. Then L. Mom will pick them up and I will go grocery shop. Wed. MDK has her visit with Gma Viv and MLK is home. The last little bit of summer will be gone.

I go to the dentist tommorow, am giving away my prison job for tommorow if someone is available because I was very sick to my stomach from it last week. The secretary at the prison really ticked me off, she told the teacher that I needed to be detained till 3:45, well the cellmates finish at 3:30 and I dont want to just hang out so I leave. She didnt tell me this, she told the teacher, It is not the most comfortable place to work and if I get the heepe jeeepes I plan to leave, and I dont just sit and chat with the cellies. If I am not working than I am going to leave.

I dont work at all next week due to the art camp and Mom coming, am looking forward to Mom coming. Well I had better get off and do a little cleaning before I go.

Sunday morning

Well I am up and at it, I went through the "library corner" and found the strangest things, such as crackers, patterns, clothes, Dawn dishsoap, huh I do wonder whose filing system I just fell upon. So I dug it all out for someone to put away.

Helped Dave all day at the church yesterday and also helped for a short time at the auction food stand the youth were working at. MDK got stung by a bee there and had to take Bendryl so when she got home she had worked for 6 hours in the sun and then the meds, she laid down and slept for 4 hours.

Pick up MLK this afternoon, and on Wed MDK will go for the last little stay, then Aug 5 Mom coming down, looking forward to that. The girls got their class schedule for art camp, MDK got basketweaving, percussion and mask making (none of which she is thrilled about, she got mostly her alternates, the dance class got canceled), MLK got stained glass, theatre, and watercolors (which is what she wanted).

I am going to try to make a meal schedule, we have been spending way too much eating out, it is a form of laziness for us. The summer is slowing down so need to get in a routine of better eating habits. Will be in St. Joe on Tuesday so will do the grocery shopping then. Well better get around for church.

looking forward

Well formulating the school year in my mind, getting things set up. I think Tuesday will be fun, Tuesday will be the days we have in town, I will interpret a college class and they will be at the library for that hour and half, then I will pick them up and we will eat then off to enrichment classes. MDK will be taking Choir, Soap Making, Square Dancing, Beg. Chess. MLK is taking Choir, ACT Prep, High School eassay intensive, and Writing your Life. I am also applying for a fincinial scholarship for them to take enrichment classes at the college, one for MDK will be wheel throwing (pottery) and MLK will take one that helps with written stories you have done, it is called Short Story something. So we will be gone from 8 to 8 that day. Monday Wed Friday will be an 8-2 day and Th will be school in the afternoon day.

MLK has been working with a woodburning kit that I got on clearance really has enjoyed that. She has been more herself lately, having some direction and setting goals and such, that is such a good thing, I am waiting to see about a counselor going to ask her psychtrist for suggestions.

MDK has a youth thing today and I plan to help Dave and clean house today, got the lawn done yesterday. Was really tired and achy yesterday so took a nap seemed to help.

We all just kinda had a down day, family time yesterday, Dave got his haircut (new style), glasses and shaved off all his facial hair. The glasses are making him a little off, but he will get use to it sooner or later. Then we kinda just hung out around the house, it was nice to just take it easy. Dave's route for Redbox is a little more managable than it was for about a month. Church activities have slowed down some. Well better get off here and get around.

mowing and other fine sports

Woke up and jumped on the mower first thing this morning and finished it off. It was breezy and nice. MDK has worked hard today picking up stuff and taking care of her kitties, it looks so much better around here except for the bedrooms and the garage. Those will now be the focus, going to try to catch up on the sign language ceus.

Heard a bit of good news, the interpreter rates are going up, that will be nice. Also the mileage rate is going up. I really like the freelance aspect of it all. Plan to work or not work around my wishes and job aviability. Will be doing one college class this fall, excitied about that. Have a few more times at the prison in the month of August. Plan possibly to go take my test again.

Girls got their classes for art camp, MLK got everything she wanted, MDK didnt get what she wanted, oh the drama. Well better get off her and get stuff done.

squeezing out summer

Wow you can start to tell that summer will be coming to an end soon, we are starting to gear up around here for alot of stuff. All the camps are done, the big trips, and VBS is done. Last night was as Dave put it a "norman rockwell" type of evening. We dropped MLK off with Gma Viv for her summer stay over and then we Redboxed. It was a cool breeze, warm evening we were out late, but now all he has left is St. Joe.

My interpreting jobs are slowing down some, it has been a little crazy, having as much as eight jobs in one week, it is more the travel than then the interpreting that is long. We have been cleaning the downstairs and I am gearing up to get the lesson plans in for this fall. We are going to do a different schedule this year. M,W, Th, F will be 5 hour days. Tuesday will also be 5 hours but it will be enrichment class days, or field trips, catch up if behind days, project days. Approx, we need to do around 30 hours a week, now about 20 of that is core, and 10 is the extra stuff (PE, artsy fartsy, etc). I will be interpreting a class on T, Th in St. Joe so the girls will come with me on Tuesday but on Thurs. they will start class around 11 and go till around 4 or 5. Other days plan to do 8:30-2. Plan to start classes part time Aug 11, and then be full by end of month.

MLK has gone off the Depkote and is now just on the Zoloft, she was a little dizzy, but glad she is off the heavier duty medicine, seems to be doing good with the switch, medically and emotionally.

its early

I woke up early this morning, at 6, now that is early for me in the summer. Last night we had a rather relaxing night, just chilled out went to bob and mary and MDK swam with their girls. Dave took off with Denise to see Gma and have a little get away. He had been an extreme grouch. Denise was such a blessing, she cleaned out this huge pile of junk behind our garage while we were gone on Saturday. It looks great. Everett is suppose to come and get all the extra building stuff off the side of the garage, it will look so good then. I am very exicitied about that. Dave plans to clean out his garage and I am working on the basement this week. Slowly and surely it is coming together .

This week focus is the basement, catching up on my ASL credits(again), and getting stuff ready for school. MLK is going to go see Viv for a few days as that was planned way back in April but has not happened. We have been unable to get any lifeguard classes for her. So hope this fall we can do that. She is still not extremely interested in wanting to drive and Dave says why push it, I think because then I dont have to drive her around so much. I would like her to get a part time job, but so much is limited (that is worth the gas money) to when she turns 16. I want her to get a local job, King City or Maysville, so we dont go in the hole gas wise.

The Rebelation was so good, talking about low expectations, awesome awesome, it was talking about the myth of adolscence. How about 100 years ago, teens had important and essential responsiblities and they rose to the challange and that teens need to expect more of themselves, it was a great message which I think got through to MLk and some to MDK. They are both responsible than the majority and they hang out with friends that are more responsible than most teens. It was excellent conference on many fronts.

Been doing alot more reading than usual, still really havent got as much photography done as I would like to do, interpreting constantly, will proably use some of this month to pay taxes for the year. Also pay for enrichment classes too. That is coming up right around the corner. Well better get off and go do my stuff.

Do hard things

What an awesome week, we had a great VBS and raised over 622 through our penny march, then 4 AM we got up and went to Des Moines to The Rebulation, it was a great challange for youth about raising agaisnt low expectations. So many youth have no epectations given to them.

ahh it is crazy here

Well today was nuts, I went to work two different jobs caught up with some former coworkers and then to second job, meet with new guy that has my old job(boy they were all long faced, not alot of good at MERIL anymore), and then also got caught in a total of four different construction sites, which made me late to the second job and then to the doctor with MLK.

MLK is on a clear liquid diet, with a strong amount of Imodium AD (up to 16 if need be) and then go back if not better in two days. She has been unable to help at VBS.

Dave is so not happy, he has decided to notgo on vacation, his machines are an utter train wreck and they only put new movies, didnt clean didnt do anything and didnt thin out machines.

Tommorow I am going to the Senior church outing, instead of Dave, I must watch my tongue. I quess our favorite stinkers in that group decided that the fireworks display should have been used to "pay off the building" one of our people said that they youth group was given some for working the tent and that the rest were donated by Bro Dave(us) which the response to that was that we should have given it to the church building instead, ugh that makes me mad like they dictate our life.

Well better go big girl is feeling a little better and wants to check email.

eyes,cleaning and VBS

Dave got his eyes checked today, his right one is got a good sized stagmtism in it, so we ordered him glasses today, I went and worked at the prison today.

Dave helped me cleaning the house today, it looked kinda like a hit and run, the hit the house and then run to the next thing. Now we are taking off to go to VBS. I quess I will get going and blog more later.

my soulmate

I am so very glad my hubby is home, we went out on a date last night and then watched MONK (what he got with his birthday money). It was nice. He helps me feel so much more centered.

I have had a wave of grief come over me of late, I guess I am still dealing with the attempted sucide, I know I need to get on from there and in most way I have, but that is a arrow that pierces a mother's heart very very deep. Every now and again the scab falls off and it oozes a little. I will have moments where I just need to get away and by myself and just cry it out, then I am better, and talk it out, and Dave listens.

Today I am in hopes of getting some headway on the basement, and a start on what we will be doing for the next school year.

Got Meg's scores for ITBS, her Reading Comprehension score was 8.2 and all the rest of that total was in the 7th grade range. Her overall of all tests were a little behind as her English scores are a little behind, but that is where our focus will be this year. Writing, spelling and grammer will be our focus this year. Data interpretation was another low, but I felt her progress was good. Her Math computations was 11.5, but her word problems brought that down a little. Overall pleased at where she is. Had one of my school teacher friends look at them and she said that this would be reflective of what a normal kid in her grade might get.

So that is one thing I think I am doing right, now if I just knew how to dry freeze my children so we all wouldnt have to suffer through teenage agnst, we would be doing great. Oh well it is a nice thought.

Looks like rain out there, it is suppose to be 5 days of sun, those weathermen are clueless.

I am thinking about getting out and getting my camera busy, just really need to kinda find a subject I want to take, been fooling around with people pics of late, but want to get back to playing around with nature, thinking about doing trees. Not sure, I like to pick out a subject area and then perfect and expand on that, it has a tendency to help me get more focused. Also bought two books to read, Paperback, will take along on my jobs due to down time. Well better go clean the office.

i slept upside down

Last night was hot and the ac went kapoop again so turned it off and opened up the windows, put a fan in my window and slept the wrong direction so I could stay cool. Watched a movie last night called Into the Wild, kinda interesting.

Yesterday went and saw Dave, he looked physically tired, but it seems to have been a uplift for his spirits, he really enjoys hanging out with Micah. Also about 9 of our kids and 3 workers from our church went. Next week is VBS so I am trying to gear myself up for that.

I have been in a rather odd mood lately, cant even explain it, it is one of those I need to be alone and fiqure out the universe and where I am in it type of moods.

Talked to one of the gals from MERIL the other day, boy I did make the right move, it has become a rather nasty place to work anymore. Do enjoy the freedom this work is providing me, and I am still making good money all together this week I will make 600 dollars, but this is not usually my normal schedule, July is very busy, I wont be as busy in Aug due to the girls work.

The church people have really been stepping up again and have been working on getting little chores done around the church, things are getting painted and cleaned out. Yeah! It looks better, I guess if you leave things long enough someone will notice and take care of it. More hands make light work.

Well best get off and get around got two jobs today.

Well, thought I would just blog about a collection of different things. Yesterday was a very full day of interpreting. Yesterday was the first day since last Sept. when I ended up in the hospital that I felt like I was back up to par. Right after it happened last year, I would struggle to be able to speak the words I wanted and then I would gradually not have that issue, it really didnt clear up till around Jan, the interpreting process went through the same thing. I really struggled to be able to get a word I would need on occasion knowing it was there but couldnt recall it. It was like someone had locked up a collection of signs or phrases in my brain. Yesterday was the first time I had no problems no frustration in the area of interpreting, the first time I felt like I was back to where I was before last Sept. Philosophy class was a little crazy. Alot of circular reasoning for my notion, but a challenge to interpret, which I did enjoy. Back to the prison today.

I have been very tired this week, sleeping alot, having very low energy, not sure why, dont feel depressed, but it can be a symptom, so I will keep an eye on it. I am missing Dave really really bad. I usually do okay with his leaving, but not doing so hot this time around. Do get to go see him tonight however, very exicitied about that.

Took pics of a senior at our church going to post a few see what you all think, I thought I did a good job. Got a 1gigbit for the camera can take 600 pics without stopping. How cool is that!! Enjoying it alot, hope to get back to taking pictures!!

Need to get started on school stuff, cleaning out the office downstairs, but I have no ump, my ump went somewhere so if you find it tell it to come home. The house looks okay, but I need to care more about it. I just dont give a hoot and a holler about it. It looks decent, but I wish it looked spiffy, but I dont have my ump as it went on vacation so decent will have to do.

The girls are going to pick gooseberries today, hope to have enough to make some pies. Well better go.

celebrations

Did a whirlwind trip to Iowa and back and saw the folks, it was good time and was great to see Delores and Rich besides the immediate family. My kids had a blast playing with the cousins being the older ones and taking care of setting off the fireworks for them. Then we got home and finished up a few hours at the fireworks tent and then came on home. Slept in really late this morning after MLK served Dad breakfast in bed this morning.

This afternoon we went up to Denise for a bday party which included Viv and Dave and Gma Henderson, and all of Kevin extended family(alot) and the kids did water games all afternoon. It was a pleasant day for Daves bday, not too hot and not too cold.

This week MLK will be having her best friend over for the week, due to both of L friends being gone to camp. Anyway, I hope everything goes well and we get some sleep. Well better get off to bed it is getting really late.

happy 4th of July

We are at Mom's minus Dave tommorow is his birthday, he will have a bday party at his sisters tommorow. Gonna stay here till mid afternoon and then take off and go home.

MLK got her writing scores so she was somewhat upset, the big thing was she was not organized with her writing, she did score mid range which is not bad. She was upset however, she has hit a stage where she will need to work at her grades, something she has not had to do before.

MDK and her kittens are keeping her busy. They mew and carry on when they are hungry. Well better go more later.

being lazy

Wow I slept into 9 am I have not done that in years. Today I go to the doctor and then off to interpret, the place where I had stitches had a huge blood blister and pus in it so I opened it up it was so gross. Going to the doctor make sure everything is okay with it, and just a regular check up then off to interpret.

Dave's movies came in late so he is going to put in two huge days in hope of getting it done before the holiday. The girls and I are going to Iowa for the fourth. We have three little kitty, one of the abandoned cats had kitties and she weaned them way too early. So we have little kitties, they can lap so they arent hard to feed, but had to clean out eyes and feed them every four hours or so. The girls have named them, Gracie, Shorm, and Spaz. We need to get the abandoned cats live trapped and find new homes for them or we will have a cat farm on our hands.

It has been raining here this morning. Now the sun has peeked out, suppose to take pictures of one of our church youth for her senior pics but dont know if the weather will hold. Next week my interpreting craziness will begin. Well better go for now
