MLK is mopey this morning. She says she doesnt feel well, mostly because around her time of the month she always has insomina, then we all get to suffer after that. She is a real bear without proper sleep, but not sure what to do as it seems to be her cycle. Thought about Tylenol PM but with her still being a kid, have my concerns.
Work is in an uproar new CEO next week, one of my co worker on adminstrative leave pending allegations, and drama drama drama. I am glad today is my last day and that everything will soon be done.
On top of that we will proably be having unexpected company, so we will see how that all goes but I wont be going back to work till the following Wed. Yeah!!!! I am very happy about that. Well better get a move on.

Bible quizzing
We started Bible quizzing for the year we will have two teams of kids for Maysville. I have volunteered to help out with this part of the youth group. Both girls are now in youth group. However they are on seperate teams. It should be helpful if they will work together, and that is a big if.
MDK has been a meltdown of pure emotions and hormones. She is literally eating somthing about every two hours, her body is very quickly taking on a different shape. So everyone buckle your seatbelts here we go again. MLK has kinda come out on the other side of it. I cant imagine having twins going through hormones at the same time. One is way more than enough. I remember vaguely how it feels to not know how to feel, or sort it all out. Pray for her and pray for us so that no one gets hurt. :)
Today Dave will start the new hours for Redbox, he is nervous so be praying everything goes well for him also. Well going to try to get a few extra ZZZS.

somewhat clean house
Finishing chores up, got alot done today and a nap besides. Picked four bags of tomatoes and a few cucumbers just deseeded and used the flesh and they were good. Have some more bags of tomatoes by the end of the week, plan to do juice tommorow. Cleaned put in grades, MDK started a biography on Thomas Jefferson childhood they have a series that is proably a 4th grade level but stuffed full of good information. Plan to have her read alot of biographies this year they are a great series, I even enjoy it as a quick read. Been watching the Muppets lately what a hoot. The girls found a dead snapping turtle in our yard. We plan to keep the shell when its flesh is gone. Lawn is mowed and it looks good. MDK is feeling alot better and almost conquered all the school work from yesterday when she was sick. Now we are conquering laundry. This week has been lets get back into a routine. The summer is gone and the routine is slowly coming back. Well need to clean bedroom so that is all for now.

its Friday!!!
Yeah it is Friday and I am home. Work has been hot since the ac has been broken all week. It is stormy here this morning. Schooling has gone pretty well so far, but today is accountablity day. Everything must be done by midnight. MLK has been doing really well, very self discplined this year and seems to enjoy her subjects. She has decided that she will not abhor math just that she will tolerate it. I told her that she would need to change her attiude in Math or it might cost her college money with a bad ACT score in Math. She seemed to finally get it. She really likes her art class that we are doing. We are also working on American Sign Language as her foreign language credit. MDK is kinda getting into the swing of things she is much slower this year then most. It is still too nice out and the call of the wild is upon her. However she is doing well also. Th6 e house has suffered some but that is okay as getting into the school routine is very important right now.
Steve came down to visit us yesterday, he has been down in about a month but then we have been gone hither tither and yon the whole month of August. One more week without a CEO and then we will have a change at work uncertain about all that.
Dave has a new part time job, it has been an answer to prayers as many of you know we were in a fincinal mess due to medical bills. Our prayer has been for an extra job that would be extremely flexible so as not to interfer with the rest of church life. Redbox is his new job, he will clean and fill the movie kiosks that are at McDonalds, he will be paid 11 dollars an hour and .45 cents a mile, the only set time is pick up on Monday afternoon, otherwise he can do it at midnight, noon, afternoon, early morning whatever works for his schedule. Pray that the church is okay with this. Pray that Daves health stays well also. He has had a good run of about 6 months, with just some numbness and tiredness, a little trouble swallowing, but overall a good deal better than before.
Well better get the kiddos up and around soon.

been a while since I blogged
Hey all, feeling a little rough this morning. Had a rumbling tummy last night and many trips to the restroom. Hopefully it has passed, going to try to go to work but not sure how long I will last. If it starts up again, I will live in the bathroom.
We started schooling Monday, it is going well. MLK is so in the swing of things and really rising to the challange of high school. She has actually enjoyed the start of the year, but then she has always thrived on routine. MDK is doing well but you can hear the fingernails agaisnt the chalkboard as we are dragging her from summer. She is not wanting the summer to end, but is doing well in her own regard. The academics are a big jump for both as one enters hs and the other middle school.
Dave has a new extra job, and a very flexible one, he will train tommorow morning. It is for the redbox videos you see at Mc Donalds. We have been praying for an extra source of income due to all the medical bills and debt from that. This seems to be our answer. Pray for strength for us all and also for understanding from the church. This shouldnt cut into their time too much but a little. Dave will be on the road some extra so pray for safety, the girls will go and do school in the car with him on Thursdays. This should not be a problem in fact the should be able to not be distracted at all.
Well better go for now. Take care all.

wandering thoughts
Wow what a day yesterday. I had a crazy long day left at 8 got home at 8. Today I will be going clear to Maryville, but should come home a little early due to having to put in 2 hour training tommorow. Did errands after work. Not looking forward to working at Trails West all day Saturday. Not fun. Hopefully it will cool down.
Getting alot of tomatoes out of our garden, need to check on it again tonight. Cucumbers are about done. The girls are at Viv's now. They will be back on Sunday.
Huh must have brain mush in this hot weather because I cant think of anything to blog so I will sign off for now. More later.

okay this is what has happened
Well now a little time to blog.
The girls are with friend spending the night and then off to Viv's tommorow and M. bday on Sat. They are squeezing the last little bit of summer out. Monday is the official day of beggining school. Got them signed up for enrichment classes this fall. Choir, biology lab, and magna art for MLK. MDK, cooking, quilting, and ettiquite class. Some will start Sept 4 and some will start in Oct. I think they will enjoy them. I have a little to put in for lesson plans these next few days and we are off and running. Alot of hard work but well worth it. I am very much looking forward to MLK art media class we will be doing here at home looks like fun.
Got ITBS scores back. MLK (the test taker extrodinare) got mostly 13 plus which means out of high school, got grade level in some of Math and eleventh grade in another part of Math and map skills. MDK improved alot, she has had to play so much catch up since pulling her out. Her scores were in the midrange to middle high. She has jumped two grade levels in some areas from where she was, Math is her best on one part she scored in the end of 8th grade. Map skills also gave her fits and SStudies was off as she studied World and they tested on American History( which she will take this year) She took it hard untill we pulled out last years scores and compared and she could she how much she had improved. We told her that this year would be a big jump for her since middle school is hard. I think she is ready though for the challenge, she seems to have her feet under her academically which she didnt have before.
Vacation was awesome, and such a diversion for both of us. Rich and Delores were great host and lots of fun things to do in St. Louis, the girls really like the arch and I and MLK liked the art musuem. We also enjoyed the Muny, that was cool. We all loved the Tre Drewes ice cream and the Gus pretzels. Rich's BBQ was so good too. We also hit about every Goodwill around, got a good suit and lots of dress and polo suits for Dave. MDK and MLK both got a fancy banquet type dress. We also found a few odds and ends, good books and stuff. Goodwills have remodeled and they are nice places, clean, and well organized. Not trashy like they use to be. The girls enjoy not hearing that's not on sale, oh my goodness they want that much!
This week will be long as I have much work to catch up on, but today has been nice, Dave and I have worked on this classroom and did laundry, meet with a former church member and now we will watch Star Trek. We are starting to hit the part of life where the girls will want to be out and about and we will let them within reason. We perfer home sometimes.
Well off to watch Star Trek!

alone
Ahhh I am alone and officially done with work!!! Yeah!! I thought I might have some difficulties being all alone but it has been a nice change of pace. In fact I have not got everything done I wanted to. Today I will be cleaning house and reading. Since the family all left I have been to Jeff City and back (dropping off MLK), and then to work two days and now I have the day off alone. However the dog getting her haircut and I meet Viv half way to have her take the dog while we are on vacation.
I watched Star Treks after work and did laundry and cleaned the kitchen, it is done but the rest of the house needs some help. We will see if I get it done or not. I have been amazed at how quiet the house is, I didnt know you could hear the water drain from the washer downstairs. I thought I had a leak :) I only have one more load of laundry utill the mighty travelers get home late late tonight.
Yesterday and this morning I finished a book I got to read in the car on vacation it is called My Side of the Mountain kinda reminds me of a Gene Straton Porter book. I also have the sequel which I may read today. The books have got me interested in doing some wildlife studies, MLK has Biology this year, so we maybe will make a book and collect edible plants. Before MLK left she said Mom I am ready for us to start school again, I about passed out!! She needs the routine, she is such a creature of habit, she is her fathers daughter.
Right now the dog is snoring behind the couch and I am putting off chores. I just want to dwell in this quietness and solitude. However duty is calling me. I have yet to get to do lesson plans. However I only have a few subjects left, and they are MDK, I am not sure what kind of pace she will be able to handle so I plan to do her at a month time. I hated when teachers rushed to "finish" a book, a real waste of time is my notion, because then you dont understand any of it. I would rather take it at a pace that can be asorbed. I bought her a big book of paper dolls with time period clothes, they have the pilgrims clear through to civil war, something fun to go with the studies I think. Also with MDK I supplement with alot of movies and documentaries, it seems to solidify things for her. We proably watch a movie or two a week through the week during the school year that is related to the subject at hand. Also make field trips relavant, such as Rennisance Festival that will happen in KC. I am hoping to do one field trip a month as Dave seems to have better overall health now.
Well enough blogging and putting off chores. Onto the battle for a clean house!
