Well a fruitless day was had yesterday, I am so tired of this stupid cold, it hangs on and on and on. Truly amazing thing. Dave went to the doctor yesterday, I think the bronchitis is close to pnumonia I hope we can skip that this time. The girls had a good World of Fun trip but were exhausted when they came home. This week is a normal week coming up, they have a homeschool choir thing at 4 tommorow, enrichment classes, college classes ice skating bible quizzing and the like. I think the girls get out enough :) School subjects are going well we are pretty much on schedule, finished up with catch up from being sick.
This cold has left me with little energy, so yesterday I only did a few loads of laundry and I just sat around and didnt do anything, Dave was feeling so rough. Well better get around for church.

thankful for our homeschool group
We had our enrichment classes tommorow and I am so thankful for this group, I didnt realize that we have been homeschooling now for coming up on seven years, wow the time has flown by. This group has really enriched our lifes, everything from chess, crochet, knitting, mushmi do , dancing, ballet, art, etc. It has been a great bunch of people to share our journey with. It has always been an encouragement to me as a Mom also.
Today is another day at the Kaster ranch, homeschooling cleaning and the like. so I better get off her and get busy.

random thoughts
Well I am awake in the middle of the night again, due to coughing, so I am up surfing the net and wasting time till i get tired again, the coughing has stopped. I am worn down and out fighting the ick and just pretty wimpy do a chore and then rest for an hour, this is the second time this year I have gotten sick and the sickness just took all the energy straight out of me. Cancelled everything yesterday and not going anywhere today, but maybe bed. I did crochet a cool winter camo hat for MLK yesterday and plan to make one for MDK today from my chair. Will work on school work today and that will be the big accomplishment for today. I am hoping to be even steven, all this sickness gets us behind, not that far behind but just a little bit, MDK was out for two or three days last week but is almost all caught up now.
MLK went with the youth group from Fairport to KC it was a late celebration thing for Bible quiz last year, she had a good time. She is going to be eighteen in just a few days, how did I get this old? She has done alot of growing up of late, making big decisions, just wish she could pass her driving test, all I think that is is a bad case of nerves, totally freaks out with the person in the car. Mid term grades come out soon so she will know her grade on English 104 soon.
MDK is so totally the teenage drama queen, one minute pleasant the next wow much drama. She is loving her chess stuff and is enjoying time with her friends, ice skating and Bible quizzing. She has been watching Veronica Mars lately, a true teen bob show she is like a modern day Nancy Drew. She has also been reading a new book called the Red Pyramid, it is by the same author and the Jackson Percy series the Lightening Theif. She has been such a reader this year and it shows throughout all her work. She is strongly considering missions as something she might be called into as an adult. I could so see her as the head of an orphange with like 30 kids that call her Mama Meggan. She has that gift.
Dave is doing okay fighting off the nasty along with the rest of us. Work and rest has become his new routine, it is a new way of life and seems to be working well with his health which has taken an upturn, it has been at least six to seven weeks without nerve pain, which is so good, that was one of his new symptoms and it is good it has gone away for now. Dave says he feels like it is a "remission" time, that is kinda the rhythm of what this has all become. He may be speaking at Fredrick in Novemember and is looking forward to that, as far as preaching he has decided that if it comes to him then he will take it as a sign of where God wants him to be doing but that he is not actively going to go looking for it. It has been such a nice respite and such a wonderful time of family togetherness. I asked for a break like Elijah had at the brook, that was my exact prayer, we have a house with a small brook running through it and I am beginning to wonder if God is going to give us the three years also (that is the time frame when MDK will finish up school and we will then be empty nesters). Then Elijah got up and outrun the chairots back to the palace, I know God has some cool things left for us to do, but Elijah sat by a brook for three years, just waiting on God's timing, just wondering how long we wait? I am okay with waiting and enjoying the way God is nourishing and providing for us in so many ways.
Well better try to get back to sleep since the coughing fits seems to have subsided.

preschool shoot and the roof
I did a preschool shoot today and it was an interesting job, MLK was my assistant and it was alot of fun. They were all such cutie pies. I have another job this afternoon this time terping, trying to do pic fixing and math and spelling in the in between time. This week is nutty crazy with both alot of photo and terping jobs and catch up (which is almost done) from MDK being sick at the end of last week. Oh well it is money coming in so that is good. Also have to get all the paperwork in so we can get our roof done soon. Well better upload pics and then head to next job.

long weekend
Had a good but long weekend at the interpreters conference, came back and felt totally wiped out Monday, had two jobs and then off to a graduation meeting also. Seems like yesterday she was a bitty girl.
Wow now wait for it, Missy dyed her hair-red, really it looks like a strawberry blond. She has been wanting to do that for a long time and she will be eighteen so I said okay lets do it. It looks cute.
Have a photo shoot tommorw and have lots of terp jobs this week, MDK got her work caught up from having the flu last week. So now onto a new week. Well better get around for enrichment classes.

just a little about everything
well today is a less busy day-ha! Well I quess what I mean by that is we dont have to go anywhere today. So clean the house and catch up on stuff. Yesterday we were out of the house for 12 hours straight, MLK class and then enrichment classes and then a last minute job. It was an interesting subject not one I interpret much.
I am hoping that maybe I will be able to make bread, finish up college app with MLK. Working on an afghan and a quilt right now and doing alot of photos. It is Christmas gifts and senior gifts for people.
Dave has been working extra hours because one of the co workers on vacation, so he got in late. I stayed up watching Table for 12 which is about a family that has two sets of twins and a set of sextapulets. What a hoot, never a dull moment.
Well better get around to my chore list.

tired and grumpy
I am truely amazed at how grumpy I have been in the last few days I just am. I think it is due to lack of quality sleep, I am getting better sleep with a nap then at night. I am just not putting up with much right now. I also hurt my foot coming off a curb and it swelled like a big balloon. It was really frustrating to have to put it up this week. Today I have a all day terp job and then we might have company this weekend. Well I had better get around.

just call me super interpreter
Had a job last night that I just nailed... it is nice when you have a day like that. I had the opportunity to interpret for Newt Gingrich today and would have if my image would not be on the jumbotron (screen) I just couldnt get over that, so passed on that job.
I have two big days of interpreting so Dave is stepping into my role today some and trying to finish his route, we have two cars acting up right now so hopefully they arent expensive fixes.
School has been doing well. MDK is working on Acient Greece and she is reading the Illiad and Oddysey (abridged) for that. Both her and I enjoy this period of history. She is enduring Romeo and Juliet she hates Shakespeare as much as MLK loves it. She and Dad are doing Algebra 2. She is having an upcoming chess tournament soon. I have an interpreter conference coming up. MLK is knee deep in her English 104 class and is coming up on mid terms pretty soon. Well better go for now.

nice day yesterday
Havent blogged for a while, been sorta a recluse in my thoughts. Will try to be more faithful. Yesterday Dave and I went to Jamesport to recycle batteries for Redbox, we get to keep the money. We then went around Jamesport, ate and gawked, got a few stars to finish our bedroom and some beautiful mums, some yeast and baking supplies. It was nice to sit and chat and reconnect.
I havent been sleeping very well of late. I am not sure what is up with that, I assume hormones. I have been working on MLK afghan and I am almost done. We have done alot of work around the house making it look like fall. I am hoping to bake bread this weekend. Interpreting is at a standstill, slow for everyone. Kinda a nice break.
Feeling alot like fall. Liking it and dreading it all at the same time, not looking forward to winter. Well better get around. Taking MDK to Bible quiz this morning.
