long time since I posted

Well the summer has been flying by, it has been a little crazy.  I have started into a fall work schedule that looks like it will be quite full which is a good thing.  Meg is settled into college routine and so is Missy.  They are both doing well and I am now on a new stage of life.  I am going to be working with a deaf mentor and then taking my state test again and then I plan to work towards my nationals. It is a time to refocus on things.  My garden has given me much joy this summer, it has produced like crazy and it gives me such a sense of accomplishment.  The herb gardens are great and so much fun to experiement with.  Dave has been using them in dishes and wow the difference from store bought.  We have canned a lot this year and I am enjoying the self suffiency of it all.  I plan to get started on Christmas stuff before long, but just cant get in the mood.

The latest thing is that Missy and Spencer broke up for the last and final time I hope.  She was unwilling to be in a marriage (that is where they were headed) where the parents of her husband had control over him.  They all believe in what is called family economics, which to me bespeaks of parents controlling their children long after they should.  I am glad she has a strong will, but I feel for her broken heart.  Meg is dating a young man, and we like him, I hope she can avoid heartache.  His name is Charlie.  Well all for now.  Hope to go garage sales today, if everyone wakes up soon.

growing girls

Well we have two weeks until moving Meg to the dorms!  It will be a crazy and exciting time for all of us.  Dave was really hit by it this weekend.  We all went out and hit some good sales for the girls clothes, now Meg is going to start on packing stuff and taking inventory.  I am exicitied for her, we are also doing last minute stuff for paperwork for both girls.  Well going to keep this short.  All for now.

work and garden and clean

Life right now consists of work, garden, clean house, repeat, but am enjoying the ability, the long drive is taking a toll on me sometimes, I feel a tad worn out, but glad for the job and most def. the pay.  After a disappointing gardening year last year it is wonderful to see everything growing so well.  I am enjoying it alot this year. Missy is working full time over the summer and Meg is doing the Mary Kay thing, so we will wait and see how that all works out.  Trying th help them out with all the paperwork for college.  It seems a tad overwhelming sometimes, and it is one way I can help out.  We are to have some really nice weather days in the next few days.  Well better go for now!

Well working at Sorenson alot lately, enjoy the ability to go ahead and earn the money dread the drive however.  We had a huge bunch of people over this weekend and Dave preached.  Dave took his Dad to the KC game with a bunch of people and they all seemed to have a great time.  We were plum worn out though after entertaining so much. 

I havee been eenjoying my garden so much this year, last year was such a dissapointment, the drought was so discouraging.  Spencer brought poo down for the garden so i hope it gives it an extra shoot need to do some sprucing and just a little weeding. My flower garden is looking awesome and have done it on the cheap for the most part which makes me happy.  I neeed one more apple tree to get my fruit trees back where they need to be.

Dave has next Suday off and then we are in Iowa twice in a row.  Well beetter go for now.

back again

Boy I have been lackluster in my blogging of late.  Lots of things have happened mostly with the girls.  Boyfriends and such, Missy and Spencer had a break up but with some communication and such and work, things seemed to be patched up... we will see... it should be interesting either way.   I like the kid and so does she but growing up well it is hard to do.

Meg is dating a boy called Charlie and they are def. in the ooeey gooey stage... too funny to watch sometimes.  She is doing her Mary Kay thing... had a good party just dont know if this will keep up with her income needs, quess she will fiqure it out.

Dave and I are adjusting more and more to our own just the two of us idea of after kids, we arent quite there yet but we do see it on the horizon.

Doing alot of work at Sorenson, enjoy the variety, dont enjoy the long drive, but the money is good .

Garden is coming up well hoping i will be able to have agood year last year was such a dissappointment!!!  Everything looks really good and we are eating strawberries... yum!!!

Reading an excellent book and reading it aloud to the girls it is called Love and Respect...going to try to get back in the habit of blogging.

feeling deeply for my big girl

Today was a sad day, Missy and Spencer decided in a friendly and nice manner that they needed to break it off.  He has decided that he wants to farm with his family.  His words were that they would be the money supporting end of it and he would be their employee.  There were some other things that were also what they discussed but this was the deal breaker for her.  She is fine with following him but is unsure about following him if it involves this setup.  They talked about the leaving and cleaving principle and they have different outlooks on what this means.  She wants a man that is hers alone and I cant blame her, some woman can deal with this setup, but she knows she is not one of them.  She is numb right now but says she saw this coming.  We really like spencer and wish him the best, and happiness for the future.  I wish it would have worked out, but it is better to know now then much later down the road.  Pray for her and pray we can help her do well.

starting a new life

Starting a new life starts with a new mindset.  Trying really hard to let go of the apron strings, i am officially done with homeschooling and getting into the mindset to get on with my stuff, it has been twenty years since I have just worried about my stuff, now mind ya i wont totally be there, but trying really hard to change the mindset. Trying to rekindle friendships and hobbies.  Yesterday we had to sign up for our church directory, Meg is going to Fairport and Missy is kinda in limbo, not a member at Fredrick but that is where she is going, but doesnt really feel that is the spot yet.  So just Dave and I are getting our picture taken together kinda a picture of things to be.  It will def. be an interesting ride.
